Mining Return Dynamics

I took a look at historical data and right after mining and EU was killed we had a peak in mining

Funny how it turns out

What data? I can’t see past a month on entropia central. The thing about data is you have to know how to interpret the data as well. Things that you can see that are strong indicators are something like d-class mining amps being a good one that had 62.6 million ped in sales over past decade (6.3 million a year average). This past year 4.9 million were sold. 307k this month (this past month would average to 3.7 mill for the year a massive decrease nearing half). Now this is where the interpreting part comes in. We just had 2 new professions that everyone went nuts over pushing MU high. We should have easily doubled those sales with the new professions and cant even keep pace? For the most recent month we had 1 of our usual gamblers come in and did the same old same old that use to not be able to push alternative ore MU above 113-115% before miners came in and wiped it out back down to 108% (still at 118 today and reached over 125% for a thing you can get 100% of in loot). When 125% MU for 100% of your loot don’t entice my friends to come back to the game there’s a problem sadly. And I stand by what I said if it was left as it was it certainly would have shit the bed on mining completely but there was some minor tweaks done. Not enough, but some that got enough people to stay and mine and a lot went broke. I’d love to go back to mining I have no idea if its fixed but the main miner for profit recently came back so maybe returns are back or he just getting in on wiping out the alternative down to break even single handedly before bouncing out of game again. I cant say. All I can say is my 120k ped in gear is gathering dust and my miner friends aren’t back for this as it currently stands. If anyone can let us know if returns are fixed so this poor Arm guy doesn’t have to comment on 100 more posts asking that’d be great I am interested as well lol.

  1. make skills doing missions all planets !
  2. get a UL gear like p20/p30/p50
  3. mine hardcore how much you can day/week/year
  4. stop moaning
  5. stop drama
  6. go back mining , again !
  7. if you cant…you can a litlle more !
  8. PS: MINING IS STIL WORKING and PAYING !!!
  9. good luck !

I stopped reading after the first part because your point went moot. First you tell me data needs to be interpreted the right way and then you compare sales this year to 2016 and 2020…

I hear you on get UL gear etc and I know the 2 most boring spots in game alternative/pyrite where you can act like a robot and stand there with your thumb up your ass waiting for a wave to start is profitable even at 90% returns. But it’s not good for new player retention or UL for the economy. If game is dump 10 grand into gear and act like a robot standing in same boring spots to have a fighting chance then mining is effectively killed. I was hoping someone else would be able to let us know current TT returns since you were able to get some massive payback from all your years mining your TT % would be skewed for this year. I don’t know anyone else who is still mining really even leeloo who was championing the opposition quit mining once he got enough data.

Thing is, in RCE, you have to choose: you either do what you need, and more often than not, you will be profitable, or you do what you want, and, more often than not, you will be losing money.
Ability to do what others dont want to, is the key to profitability in all of professions.

Moreover, i personally believe that there has to be ā€œjoblikeā€ activities in every profession, otherwise ā€œsmartā€ players (those who are actively searching for profit) will lose even more ground to whales, gamblers, skillers and hardcore grinders, who will, by law of offer and demand, just flood the market and, inevitably and involuntarily, ā€œoptimizeā€ the price to the ā€œfloor pointā€.

From my pov, MA should stop trying to develop activities with the ā€œrightā€ balance of fun and profitability, and focus on developing both options via sepparate tools. Each one of them dedicated, in more or less grade, to either fun or service type.

Hi Mos, this is a game and should remain a game, it is not a job nor a research platform, it should be fun and financially reasonable without huge testing and without need of buying much UL gear.

If MA invests in fair play and good game fun and advertises much it may lose some money in 6 months but the economy can become 10x even 100x given future of metaverse and it can pay for fair play and fun and graphics etc

If a veteran like me who has (roghly) paid in and ā€˜invested’ 35k USD and kept 30k USD in game and is ready to leave 5k of it to MA (30k - 5k = 25k USD) is pleased, then they will hit jackpot. Happy golden clients bring good business.

The dynamics of game was heavily misreported through average returns when we joined and we were investing and our payments were clearly marked ā€˜investment’ in key highly visible pages of EU. Such pages also mentioned 98% average return without clarifying. In Europe you cannot do that without risking court.

I could plan to invest 10 times more in EU, given fair play would be present, but when I see I was promised investment plus game, were misinformed, and it did not work the business/investment goes somewhere else.

Yes, now I can do tedious work to get bit profit but that would not be a fun game, nor fair play. Time is much more precious.
