oh…
must have understood that wrong, sry
let’s imagine newbies would spawn there
well, first to sweating
why does Neas and swamp camp have a a lot of sweaters around, and why other players don’t?
the answer is, revival terminal
in CND is just 1 (i think), so to get back to any dome sweating, you have to tp and run several minutes to an animal, also remember the slower run speed here
a sweat attempt of concentrating and and sweating itself takes 12 seconds, so you miss 5 attempts every minute you have to run
hence, less sweat per hour, therefore, useless for sweaters
and that doesn’t even mean that there is absolutely no use for ME or sweat up there
healers tend to stay at revival terminals, and not going out with groups (more meat to skill on at one place), so the healers might indeed be there, but not where they should be, out with the newbies, to make their sweating faster
why?
because most of them buy and sell something at the control room, what basically leads to the fact that healers are that long there, as long they can do keep their business up at the same time
but, it is about depositers, so let’s ignore all the newbies who start without depositing, and consider sweating first (99%)
so, let’s go to the 1% who starts to deposit right away
to the more experienced players who answer questions
there are often people at the newbie arrival zone in PA, who indeed try to answer questions (besides, if you fly up just to get advice, this is not “free” at all, it cost 20-25 ped usually, without tax later on to try the tactics)
but let’s ignore that too
now, you might call me old fashioned, or not, but one thing PE had, EU starts a bit to lack of sometimes, but it is still here, is
Freedom
Freedom of choice, wether to mine or to hunt or to craft, or just to chat
also the choice to buy clothes
and also the choice to hunt and mine at taxed land or not
this choice you don’t have up there
when you deposited up there, get your opalo and start to hunt daikis or
whatever small there might be, you pay tax
always
now, you might say “but ND is offering a service!”
then, come down from CND, go to swamp camp, run a bit north, and see another nice daiki spawn
around 1 min max away from a revival terminal, with healers almost 24/7
better run speed, and no tax
don’t get this wrong, CND has indeed advantages, none for which i would go there, to be honest, i haven’t been there since several months, due to hilarious ticket prices up, and my first time impression of it, but I try to stay objective
CND is as soon good, when you want to hunt stuff that doesn’t exist on the planet (whole 2 mobs, which needs pretty good equimpent), or in other maturities than you have on the planet (pluma stalkers etc.), but this is not useful for newbies, so i let them out
it is ALSO a nice place for miners, but newbie miners could go bankrupt soon and leave pretty fast, since they are simply not prepared, nor have some mining tactics developed on “cheaper” grounds (i don’t mean tax here, i mean the claim/bomb ratio)
so for now, i see no advantage for newbies because
-the sweating situation is bad, just in terms of revival terminal position
-you take the freedom of choice to hunt at a taxed area away
-if you finally have them up there and they considered to scratch 20-25 ped together, they are up, but can’t go down that easily
-the storage situation
for newbie miners horrible (first tax, hilarious weight, so you are forced to sell to lower prices, i know already 1 person who makes a nice profit out of this, funny that most ppl dislike this kind of trading, which forces other ppl to sell at too low prices, but still encourage it here)
for sweaters hilarious bad too, sweat starts to get heavy, same for dung, fruit
it would just be a matter of time to have the first sweat and ME reseller over there (buying sweat at 0.4 and nexus at 120% or whatever), if you do that enough a nice gain can come out
not just that you even spend tax to get the nexus, or to spend tax when you choose a hunting career as sweater up there
hunters depends, animal oil isn’t that heavy, but enough hides etc and it starts to cause problems
-the lack of auction
you can’t sell ores etc. not to ppl at the planet without a funny shipment fee
this leads to the point above basically (additional to the storage)
it also effectively bars you from having access to items which come from the planet, hence cutting your market options down dramatically
“but there are shops!”
oh, yes, i have seen funny shops on the planet too, often around 1% above the price at auction (it is actually fun, as soon an item rises in value, the shops adjust prices in lightspeed; as soon it falls, it takes a bit longer, can be months :P)
otherwise said, you are forced to buy in shops there, or from ppl at the control room, which cuts the market down, which can, and usually does, lead to unfair situations
now, let me do a little loop to eco, which basically means, that you get as much as possible from a firm amount of cash
there are so many many people who buy amps at hilarious prices, so many many people who argue about every % on their breer or whatever, to get a little inch more eco, means more mobs killed for 100 ot whatever amount of peds back
but they are volunatary give 4% away (for the service, i know, as i said, it can be worth it), and also can sell their stuff for less cash, since not all the market is open for them (auction shipping cost) and maybe even have to pay more in shops
you get less return, sell that return for less, and use it to pay more for L items?
hope you don’t discuss about eco anytime soon
CND is good when you know that (what newbies wouldn’t if they spawn there)
when you accept that (what newbies would be forced to when they spawn there)
when you want to hunt unique creatures or unique maturities of those
when you are curious to see it
when you mine and are sure about the risks you are taking
when you know a pilot (i am not too sure of not most of those who are that often at CND don’t have a good friend who flies for free sometimes)
when you find resources with acceptable markup which pay for the tax (as long you fly down to sell them in most of the cases)
when you are a trader who wants to buy at better prices :deal:
when you like the athmosphere
when you like the ppl up there
several of these points can just be seen when you went there once
so yes, newbies should go to CND, see if they like it
but not from start, and not without clear information about it
and i mean here not just all this “nice daiki spawn”, “you get free and good info from advanced players”
might be true, but you can find it elsewhere
and you can risk quite much money or volunatary pass on it for something that can be found elsewhere too, similar, cheaper, better, taxfree… (more eco)
and that other pieces of information, the actual cost, shouldn’t be kept quiet
