Dear PE-Members,
I posted this on EP-Forum with a few pictures of the Tina ´Island Girl`Leiu Memorial.
For the pictures follow the under link on the buttom of this post.
This VU gave me a new experience and made me go into myself to remember what a great and lovely person Tina ´Island Girl ` Leiu was.
I was looking for the new Towns on Amenthera when I came to that place called Memorial Island.
Instead of a town I found the Tina ´Island Girl`Leiu Memorial.
I was very impressed to see a golden Statue looking like a good friend of me.
The Statue is interactive and shows pictures and personal informations about Tina with her own music in the background.
The first thing I did was running home to get a Flower to drop at the Memorial in remember of Tina.
Damn will be the one who goes there and steal the Flower of Tina.
Here a few screenies to make it possible for everyone to take a view even he is not able to get there by himself.
For the Info of the Statue you should go there by yourself and rightclick it to show your respect.

I have to admit that Ma, you have done a very nice gesture and a really good job at immortalising Tina “Island Girl” Leiu. Lets hope to see more of these but not because of so sad circonstances.

Im not that technical professional and with the screenies on the EP Forum my Husband helped me
I was just visiting Tina, left her a flower aswell. beautiful place, they couldnt found a better spot then such a green and lifefilled spot for honoring her.
Was over and left a flower, and got warm all over when I saw all the offers that players gave.

Hmmm looks like someone has been raiding it for some things tho… it was ALOT more flowers and also a cosy candle when I was there
I gotta say I think this sucks.
Many times in the past people have called for this sort of thing for well liked players, and MA have refused/ignored the requests. While that’s sad, it’s a fact of life that people die and quite frankly I’d rather not have memorial places springing up all over the place in PE.
It sets a bad precident, now when a well loved player dies in the future and they dont get a memorial ingame, there will be a very bitter taste in those who wonder why their friend wasnt good enough in the eyes of MA.

I agree, it doesnt feel fair that 1 person gets a shrine, when Evell and countless others didnt :mad:
Either make a shrine or memory wall for all players that die or none at all

It’s a nice gesture, but I do agree with you, not to down this particular thing I like it. But if I die tomorrow will they build one for me? I would hope they will I think I’ve done alot for this game and made a huge name for my self. Time will tell I guess. Just hope no one has to die to find out

Does ones fame depend on ones dying? Do you wish that you will be remebered not for what you are irl but how well or how far one has gotten ingame?
Does anyone here want to die and be remembered for any accomplishment that is only virtual at best?
By asking if MA would build such a tribute for yourself only cheapens the fact that you would have to ask if this would happen.
I have had many friends irl die…and not of their own volition. They live on in my memory,my private place..not because they wanted me to but because I want them to.
No one..NO one has the right to demand that they be remembered for anything more than what they were. MA has decided to begin a trend that will allow us to go to a place to seek closure for those that have gone before us. I am sure that Memorial Island will be filled with those we hold dear.
I personally am absolutley apalled at the fact (and I saw it coming) that anyone here would belittle MAs gesture…

I just think it was different when Tina died because she was realy an actuall part of PE being she was the girl in the Gamer Chick song that was in the Jukebox. Everyone knew that song and most knew that it was about a person in PE. I don’t know anyone else in PE that was that much a an actual part of PE.
I do see dirks point but i don’t realy think it’s an issue.
Good job MA just whish it was an estate and Neverdie could own it and then the items would not “disapear”
I think the memorial is beautiful. I was feeling nothing but warmth and sympathy, when I read the 1st page of this thread. However, at the 2nd page of the thread I had to glance at the other arguing side. And I just cannot let myself ignore that point of view. The con-people do have a point.
Hence, and please, don’t smite me for this, I have two proposals:
Proposal 1. Less cynical.
Create a memorial wall, some sort of “cemetery” where passed away players would be remembered and honored.
Proposal 2. More cynical.
Have relatives or friends pay for construction of such memorials. This way nobody will get offended. Those who made themselves big in PE, made friends, and can afford to build a memorial - will be fairly remembered.
This proposal is cynical extremely, because memorials would become very easily - the matters of status and prestige.
@ those who “take” things from memorials:
How dare you?! This is not just “taking”! This is stealing! What you do is one of the worst despised actions known to societies in all cultures. Disrespecting a shrine is a horrible crime, especially morally.
Sure, you can throw shit at me like “Fool, there is no trust and respect in a game where lies are unpunished and thieves are untraceable.”
But let me tell you: virtual or not - a memorial is a memorial. It holds memories, and it holds karma.
You are marauders - and you will be punished.
Someone, some day - will punish you.
