Dun get me wrong, Island Girld was a great person.
But because I wasnt a Great Person Ingame, doesnt mean I dinnt make a difference In real life, Cos I know I did.
On the info on the map it says its a general memorial place. Maybe this was just the first out of many to come. So Island Girl will probably not be the only one.

Yes it is memorial isle…perhaps more tributes, perhaps not.
These kinds of things makes me always wonder…
I mean its so common that when someone passes away everyone hurry to make public declarations how magnificent that person was. Maybe its cultural thing. I havent ever felt like praising dead ones - just quiet missing is enough for me. Every living person has own pros and cons, and dying doesnt remove latter. I can honestly say that I didnt know her at all. I dont feel I could make any statements for or against.
But it doesnt bother me what people say, it doesnt bother me if MA builds monuments… let everyone do what they feel is right - MA too. In a way its nice that players are creating history for PE. On other hand it kind of feels “wrong” because its real persons lives tied into computer game world and subjected to all kinds of debates and activities we have here. When it comes to such memorial monuments that person never really can give acceptance to have one.
Like Essi said - PE is very much its participants. Anyone who wishes to become immortalized on Memorial Island is welcome (I understand that this sentence sounds macabre, and I have re-written it several times, and it always comes out wrong, please bear with me).
If it is the participants will to be remembered in PE, MA requires a real life Death Certificate and the notion that it was the will of the participant in life to have this, then we will add the person to Memorial Island. It is our way to send our respects to the ones that helped create history and made PE into the wonderful community it is.

her death was also a tragedy.. =/ left behind husband and son..
was taken from us very early in her life, etc, etc.
plus the sheer # of testimonials the post recieved on e-p.. everyone sharing memories etc.
MA should change the area around the shrine, in that anything dropped shouldn’t be allowed to be picked up by anyone other than the one who put it there. Or at least change it so that items cannot be picked up once dropped.

Wouldnt say that the average MMORPGer is doing school shootouts and then killing themself. Kids that do crazy stuff after playing GTA for instance are disturbed kids, I like violence in games but I would never try anything in real life

Thanks for clarifying the meaning of Memorial Island, Marco. I had assumed that since it was named as such it would become a place where someone who passed away could be remebered.
Also thanks for your pmed response about items placed there being made non pickable. Makes sense that you wouldn’t want someone desecrating a memorial.
So…how does one elect/enshrine someone that has long since passed away?
Like Evell…and Jade Black Love and many others?
Edit: I re read your post…I guess it would be a legal issue…esrt the certificate and a written affirmation from the person?
