[Restoration Chip, Augmented]; IS THIS NOT A AFRICAN PRINCE TRYING TO GIVE YOU 1M$

[HEADING=2]Healing Chip Comparison: Mayhem vs Mod vs Aug[/HEADING]

Let’s break it down with the data in the table provided. You’re probably wondering:

“How many times do I need to use the Mayhem restoration chip to make up for the price difference versus the Mod or Aug?”

Well, the price gap between Mayhem and Mod is roughly 15,000 PED. How many uses does it take to break even?

A good friend of mine guessed 8,000 uses—assuming 100 uses per day, every day. Nice try, but wrong.

Guess 20,000? Still wrong.
100,000? Not even close.
How about 1 million? Warmer, but not quite.

Try 3.5 million uses (yes, million), including markup on Mind Essence. And if you guessed that—congratulations, you win absolutely nothing!

Let that sink in:
It would take 95 years at 100 uses per day to pay off the price difference—for the Mod. As for the Aug… forget it. I’m not even doing that math. But hey, you’re welcome to.

Now maybe you’re thinking:
“But I grind more than that. I use way more than 100 per day!”

Alright, let’s say you’re ultra-efficient and never stop:

[ul]
[li]60 uses per minute[/li][li]1,440 per day[/li][li]525,600 per year[/li][li]That’s 2,102 PED in TT cost per year[/li][li]At 120% markup, about 2,500 PED yearly[/li][/ul]

Still takes 6 years just to cover the difference.

And let’s be honest—you’re not using it 24/7.

[HEADING=2]Mind Essence Cost?[/HEADING]

[ul]
[li]From Mayhem to Mod: +40 Mind Essence[/li][li]From Mod to Aug: +2 Mind Essence[/li][/ul]

Saving what exactly?
A whopping 2.5% improvement in healing output. That’s +35 HP/min or +0,6/tick which is… a joke.

[HEADING=2]So What’s the Difference Between Mod and Aug?[/HEADING]

[TH]Stat[/TH]
[TH]Mod[/TH]
[TH]Aug[/TH]
[TH]Difference[/TH]

Heal/min
1365
1400
+35

Heal/sec
36.4
37
+0.6

Initial Heal
136.5
280
+143.5

Uses/min
2
1
-1

Sure, the Aug has a bigger initial heal—280 vs 136.5—but you can only use it once per minute, compared to twice for the Mod. You might sneak in a second use with perfect timing and with a quick use knife or pistol, but let’s not pretend that’s game-changing.

The real scam?
Let’s look at the actual healing power increase:

[ul]
[li]Adj → Imp → Mod:[/li]
[li]192.5 → 332.5 (+72%)[/li][li]332.5 → 682.5 (+105%) + 1% Lifesteal[/li][/ul]
But then you get to the Aug:

[ul]
[li]682.5 → 700 per use (+2.5%)[/li][li]? Clown tier improvement[/li][/ul]

Shame on MindArk for letting this pass through with zero balance oversight.

[HEADING=2]TL;DR – What Should You Get?[/HEADING]

Get the Exceptional Mayhem (L) chip. I didn’t even go into it here, but it only costs 1 rare token (used to be ~1,600 PED). Comparing that to these unlimited options?

To "Cover the cost of buying a (UL) assuming you can break one (L) per year you would need only a meager 26 years. Btw this bad boy heals more than the Mod/Aug per tick anyhow

Final Thoughts:
If you still want to grind for the Aug, go for it—spend countless hours doing daily missions on Toulan or DSEC and enjoy the ride, when you are done you will basicly have upgraded your Mod chip to a Mayhem chip with less healing per sec. Congrazt you could of gotten that for 1.6k, great work budd!

Now for those with a tiny bit of intelligence, don’t even take a 2nd look at that hot pile of garbage untill they make it atleast 70% better. (Mic drop) ?

FYI, Mindark didn’t even update the site for the Missiongalactica that’s how much they care.

Otherwise?
Save yourself the time, the PED, and the headache.
Thanks—and good luck out there.

I was so excited when they released this … I took the bait…
I went and did daily’s everyday…finished the weeklys…grinded gamble mobs that are horrendous for tt returns…
im 95% completed that grind…i got the elder robe and the needed daily tokens…just need to finish the thwar grind…

Then they released it…

what a joke… and a complete waste and a stain on toulan and dsec or even being a part of it…if they knew the stats of it prior…

2% inc and worse heals then a mayhem lol…im assuming they missed a decimal point somewhere and are going to adjust this …
how is this even called augmented when its worse then mayhem which is cheaper then the Mod resto lol…

Interesting numbers, thanks for the analysis, when I looked at this before it looked like the comparison between the Mayhem Resto and the Aug Resto was about a 8% increase in heals vs a 20% reduced cost which seems to match up with your numbers.

But i agree the difference between the Mod Resto and Aug Resto is pretty much just scaling the modified resto to 1 minute.

The only thing that I can think of which is super hard to quantify is that normally if I’m using my mod resto, I’m also having to top up with a heal with a hedoc, which for me costs 10 pec or so. So each use of the Augmented resto due to the bigger initial is actually saving me an additional 10 pec.

Exactly why I have kept my mod, absolutely no reason to get aug.

20 something years and how many changes in balancing managers in MindArk??? Or do they even have a balancing manager anymore???

I’m trying to see the value of what you are saying but I’ve been scratching my head for a few months now and I’m starting to get a blad spot, But I guess what you are trying to say by comparing the mayhem to the aug is that you are going to sell your mayhem resto for 45k, to buy a mod resto for 55k then start the grind for elder tokens and the coin and then spend another few thousand ped, to get the augmented one and then be worse of than the mayhem resto. Seems like a none educated choise, you only need 2M uses roughly to make back 10K peds for the “upgrade”. And I doubt you will go tt even in the long grind.

Just for clarity …

[li]we provided the mission only which was an agreement between MA and VS[/li][li]from that point forward, it was MA’s doing to create the Augmented Resto Chip as well as the new Galactica mission for the upgrade[/li][li]we had no knowledge of what those stats were going to be[/li][/ul]

Talk about bringing up a CRAPPY subject!
When this new item “Augmented Restoration Chip” was introduced I was all excited and started farming the item required to upgrade my Modified Restoration Chip to a better more improved version. I jumped on the farming train to get those Elder Tokens to be one of the first avatars to get this amazing healing tool. So what was the catch? The DSEC/MA team made us wait(they fucked us in the end) MONTHS to actually see the stats on this TERRIBLY horrible DOWNGRADE of a restoration chip.
Really this is definetly a DOWNGRADE!

Look at the progression Adjusted > Improved > Modifed…DOWNGRADE(Augmented)!

Where does the progression get WORSE on any other item in game? They really stole our peds on this joke of an upgrade mission. I have to wonder if the DSEC/Toulon team knew exactly what the end result of the item they promised to be an upgrade to us was when they announced that update? If they did know they could and should NEVER be trusted again with any public announcement…oh wait that doesn’t matter anymore. OR were they in collusion with MA? How many avatars put in 10+ hours a week, and tens of thousands of peds cycled for 4-8 weeks before they showed us this piece of crap not upgrade - NOT AN UPGRADE

Nah, you can relax on this. There’s no collusion cause planet partners are treated the same as the players. I call it the mushroom treatment: kept in the dark and fed shyte.

Relax? Who are you to tell me to relax? Did you lost thousands of peds farming for this -NOT AN UPGRADE- downgrade augmented chip?
Where is the proof they aren’t in collusion?

In case you missed it above:

Hey friend, I also lost thousands of peds, but on other rug pulls in game. We’re all hurting. RELAX ;D

I agree, you and everyone was F’d on this but I can not believe the blame rests on the planet partners. They just give info to MA and MA has the responsibility of making it balanced and work. But as I said above, they don’t have a competent balancing manager and have not had one for many years. Look at how unbalanced most everything is. I’m sure a monkey can balance everything better than it has been in the last 5-10 years! ??

There is a prophecy I heard of in Port Atlantis from a shady player. The prophecy of the one who will bring BALANCE to the game…

More clarity …

[li]I already said we had no knowledge of what the stats of the Augmented Resto Chip would be[/li][li]at the time our mission for the Galactica Elder Coin was in play, this chip wasn’t available[/li][li]we only worked with MA for our mission and had no say in what the Augmented Resto Chip stats would be[/li][li]— nor what the new Galactica mission would be in order to do the upgrade[/li][li]when the VU came, we noticed that the new Galactica mission at Howling Mine was not implemented yet[/li][li]I had several players asking me about it, so I contacted MyAnt to ask if she would look into it[/li][li]Ant followed up with MA and it wasn’t deployed until a later update[/li][/ul]
I can only give you facts.

So basicly you developed a hard, expensive and time consuming mission for a reward that you were kept in the dark from, seems like a fantastic idea to develop misstrust between the community and you as PP and MA

I am perplexed at this whole process…How can a PP put out a mission without knowing what the upgrade item would be beforehand? Simply annoucing an item with the word Augmented insinuates it will be BETTER than all previous versions. How can this happen

It’s real simple: PPs are encourage to DEVELOP their planets with content and missions. MA control rewards and items so PPs dont create some UBER item that ‘breaks’ the game. So, in simple terms, the PP sets up the contest, MA decides on the prize.

How can this happen? Oh … others can tell you what they’ve seen in 20 years in this game. It’s just your turn to get the short end of the stick, bud :stuck_out_tongue:

Who do you work for? DSEC PP? I suspect this particular PP was PAID to develop this specific mission we are talking about that led to the NOT AN UPGRADE…I don’t buy that they didn’t have any idea what the actual augmented chip stats would be.

I dont work for either or anyone. I’m just a player. A player who has been played … but not this round. I’m commiserating with you is all.
