Re-trader scum speaks out! :)

Why is there so much hostility to resellers on this board? We get refered to as scum and worse. I enjoy playing this game, I like the trading aspect of the game… Hunting leaves me cold as does mining so I enjoy PE in a diffrent way.

What I dont like is the way how some people automaticlly think that im a scammer. I have never scammed any one in my life.

Dont get me wrong, I do think that people that push prices up using multiple avatar / friends bids are scum.

Also some people that complain that traders ‘push prices up’ dont buy from us and find the item your selfs. We (traders) will only pay below an items value. If we dident buy it, some one else would.

Please dont turn this thread in to a flame war :boxer: .
This is my opinion and I would like you all to respect it. Please put down yours and give reasons why I’m wrong to resell to the highest payer

Thank you

Ok Im just gonna make 1 statement.

Who is the morons that ae buying up all the ff4400’s and ff4400m’s and putting them on auction for 1000 PED… and the same with the EP40’s (not modified or nothing…)

Its people doing stuff like that that give resellers a bad name…
and they should be dragged into the street and shot…then run over with a steam roller.

Trading is an honorable profession, as long as it stays honorable.

I have no problem with players that want to be traders in PE. I do have a problem with some of the prices though. I have made the mistake of selling my items over price as well, but that is only because I’m a n00b!, besides, no one bought anything…

There should be a cap on items sold at auction, that way traders can make a living, and everyone else can still afford to buy what they need.

Item markups of over 5000% are just rediculous!

Keep doing what you enjoy doing Danni, and ignore the idiots.

If people are buying at your price, then you’re doing nothing un-ethical, no matter how big your mark-up.

If people aren’t buying at your price, after a couple of tries, then dont hold the market back by repeatedly posting at the same price, lower it a little and allow the market to work.

Nothing wrong with trading for a profit, its one of the things that makes PE what it is. (The best game/virtual universe on the net)

Totally disagree.

A valid mark-up is one that people are prepared to pay … its that simple.

nobody has aproblem with traders and resellers, thye provide a service by making larger batche by buying small amounts, also they provide quick cash for people, and save on the 1 ped auciton fee, witch is much with small amounts

problem is the cornering of the market; 4 days ago someon bought all dunkel and reposted it at 675%, atm he keeps buying all less priced. (was fine with me i had a nice stash which he had to buy)

in a free market with rise of prices it would become profitable to deliver or make more of a ceratin ietm or good, in PE however, suplly is limited and can be controlled

so the market isnt big enough to operate freely on price/demand basis
real life isnt to good either ofcourse, DE beers compagny controls diamdn market for centuries now, buyign up al diamonds in the world adn establishing fixed prices that way.

U can never make everyone happy, few month ago miners complained, now wit hthe high mineral prices they are having a ball. iron 142 % , even huntign argo s becomes profitable, molsik 1000%, huntign molisk is nice too

in the end the end game costs money ,and every player has to decide for himself how much he wnats to make it cost him, nobody been forced to buy a item or deposit

complaining is the oldest small talk in the wolrd i think, live with it, and do the right thing for your own account

Not when there is market manipulation going on…like buying your own items at high prices so people checking petrade etc think that this is the normal price to pay, or by buying every single item of a certain type, cranking up the price, and so forcing the market to pay high prices by monopolizing that particular item.

In what way a cap? An ‘upper limit’ to what price some one can buy for or a limit to the number of items you can sell at anyone time?

im afraid item mark ups 5000%+ is just the efect of supply and demand

I really hate re-sellers even though they are responsible for a number of my items going up in price, thats a generally bad thing for PE.

Theres a few people who I know that buy items for as low as they can get and hike the price up to top dollar range. My society has been advised not to deal with these traders A)Because selling to them will not get us the best deal and B)Buying from them will result in overpaying.

However I have nothing against traders. The common argument though is the same as for sweaters and riggers, its free money. They are exploiting the market to make money, I don’t mean this in a bad way as this is what happens IRL with the stock exchange and trading en masse. But thats what I think peoples hostility stems from, that traders are non-depositers and quite happily brag about owning such and such from non-depositing. I don’t see any point in bragging.

TBH if you choose not to deposit its your choice, but your progress will be considerably slower in PE that someone who chooses too. And not everyone can be a trader, the more traders there are the more difficult it becomes for each trader to prosper. So be careful where you brag, otherwise you mind find 20 noob resellers suddenly popping up to do you out of business.

Totaly agree with point A). Point B) Glad to see you have been proactive and have found better contacts and not just bitched about it

I just love ppl who buy Tiger harness from auction with 1500 peds and puts it back for 2500 peds, and buys shins for 500 and puts them back asking 999…

That’s pure greed, not fair business…

WHERE IS THAT 3 MONTHS RE-SELL BAN FOR AUCTION?

What I meant is a cap on the price. You can sell as much as you want, but the price can not go over TT+300% for example. I’m not sure if that is feasible…I just pulled that number out of my hat…

I don’t mind paying a bit more for something I really need, but sometimes the prices are just too ridiculous.

If that was don then the item would always sell at say 300%. The only way to win one in auction is having a fast finger and getting the first bid in

simply won’t work because the value of certain uber items can’t realy be measured, besides, that’s not a free market anymore that MA has been advertising for as long as they exist..

on the other hand.. don’t confuse supply+demand and manipulation.. i can’t wait till MA launches the long awaited reputation system so certain market manipulators can be be handled accordingly

capping woudl drive market outside auction. and then it woudl truly become wild west cause then all control would be gone

u need : information on prices, items, buy outs, buy history of the item, how much of the items in game, and in auction, last sold price, average resell time of a item.. and so on.

information is a part of the solution, not buying by players also, accepting trade as part of the game also.

problem is the community and market is to small to be truly free, higehr prices dont lead to increased production often as it would in real life.

I like this idea better, but it still does not solve the problem in my eyes. I agree with Danni that as long as people are willing to pay the price the traders will sell. There will always be some people that will buy an over-priced item regarless of the trader’s reputation.

resellers are ok in my book, as long as they keep their business in reasonable limits. don’t be too greedy.

the traders i hate are who spam the chat sayin BUYING BLAH BLAH BLAH (Usally High End Items) and when you chat, they offer you 60% value of it. e.g. you say how much you buying a V2, they say +2.5k you say LOL and walk off, and then they start spamming the chat… really pisses me off.

True, theres a certain player in twin peaks who is constantly buying uber equipment and skills, at what I personally consider to be below market value. This player obviously has no interest in actually owning this stuff as she has been doing it for 3 months or so at least. And I think in that time its fairly easy to get any uber gear you want, within reason.

Re-sellers suck shit through a straw. They ruin the ecomomy of the game.
