Re-trader scum speaks out! :)

Lol, what an eleqountly put point e-lite :wise:

lol e lite, thats a nice balanced remark witch really puts things in perceptive
i trade and resell, none of my customers are unhappy and hapy with the service i provide, wether it s buying your 4 molisk tooth at 700% or gatehrign a full nemesis armor for which thye lack the time or price knowledge to buy.
i do wonder abotu that twin person, how is it possible peopel sell to her. peopel who own a high end weapon i woudl say they knwo PE well and the prices. why is it hard to check auction sites?

Resellers do offer a valuable service. When I want to get the money for something straight away I like to be able to list it at a buyout of 5-10% under the market price. I’ll usually get my money in around an hour then.

People asking 150%+ of the market price is not acceptable however. This does seem to have got worse recently especially with rifles (ARR, Camo, Foxtrot). I guess it comes down to everyone’s responsibility to educate themselves on the market prices for items and not to buy items that are obviously overpriced.

Well I wouldn’t like to comment on “items” but for materials etc the resellers are the only thing that allows stability. When you get numbers like, buy at 103% sell at 108% thats really nice to see. As long as something isn’t being hiked out of all proportion (wood anyone? nutrio bars?).

As a hobby tailor I try like to use skins. Hunting saba’s myself is a darn sight more expensive than paying resellers for their skins (although more fun  ). Traders put a lot of money into the game in order to be able to have stock available for buyers, the % they charge for that service is fair enough if you ask me.

But do the tiger harness sell? no… http://www.pe-trade.net/index.php?p=query2&q_id=2067
That link doesn’t show the truth. Last weekend i was thinking to buy Tiger
harness, it was about 7-800 peds. One re-seller bought it and put it back to
auction for 1500 peds. Other re-seller bought it and put it back to auction
asking 2500 peds. No wonder that tiger doesn’t sell coz that 7-800 was a high
price…

Long live greedy re-sellers :censored: they make this game expensive.

problem is most player do profit one way or the other. I dont hear anyone complainign thet get 8000 ped for their shadow armor. Neither do i hear miners complain or argo hunters that iron goes for 140+ atm.
If price drops crafters happy, miners unhappy. it seems like u cant please everybody.

as in real life, use your mind and decide wht u wanan pay for somethign, new x boxes went for 3600 dollars first hours last week, same in pe

As far as i know supermarkets, most local shops, … irl are all resellers, I don’t have a problem with them, if I think they charge too much i won’t buy.
Why should I think differently for ingame resellers?

Yeah, ppl just should NOT buy ANYthing this is above avarage market price.
If the resellers cannot sell their stuff for the adnormally high prices they ask, they just have to lower the prices, else their whole money is in goods and they are stuck with it.

There are loads of sites where you can checked the avarage market prices and you shouldnt buy stuff for more.

Also resources and materials should not be allowed to have an opening price above TT, this sure will to normalize the market prices again. I just don’t feel like crafting when the avarage resource price is 150%.

My 2 pecs opinion, like it or not

You and I both know thats different, for one thing RL items come with an R.R.P or Recommended Retail price set by the manufacturers of the item. I’ve never really seen any cases were shops go above this, infact its often lower as evidenced by TV adverts with the RRP slashed out and their own price in there.

In PE there is no RRP, there is only the market value which can be influenced by monopolisation.

ever heard of demand and supply?

its not the resellers fault the prices are so high. its the buyers fault
if item x is set out 500 ped buyout and it sells, then next item wont be set at 500 but 600 soc there seems to be demand.

if suddenly snables drop item x on every loot, demand is still the same, but supply is enormus, then you wont need to pay 600 but maybe 5 ped.

so dont blaim relessers, blaim the demanders

Edit, im not a reseller, only 30 ped on card

and what about those m2875 that over night turned from tt+60-120 to tt+200-300 because the resellers say so.

bla bla supply and demand

no, because someone was stupid/smart/whatever to pay that price

demand

Hmm this discussion have been present for thusands of years… Not PE though but in rl. Hmm “some” have pirated copies of everything just because traders here in real life, hmm, with kind words sell stuff for more money then they schould. Same thing for PE people trade cause there are opportunities, I would have traded more if I didnt think it was so booooring… I like it the way things are now. U cant get everything u like for the right price or even a good price all the time and this make u put some effort in to the game and ur avatar value. If ppl only learn the virtue of patience and knowledge the bad behaving traders would get troubble cause they wouldnt sell a thing… I agree some traders should get nailed at a pk-tree or something for everyone to shoot at but most of the traders makes the market more stable, with other words newcomers and veterans have a clue at what price items should be at. The way it is today u can sell a item quick and fast via auction and I think that is great cause u make the deal unpersonal and give someone a chance to make profit on ur lack of patience. I often put up ores at a buyout similar to highest bid on no buyout items. This gives crafters a chance as well. well I will probably speak more of this…

Oh, thought you where a reseller, then you should know how. But okay.. I’ll explain what you do. You buy something at market price, or ofthen below market price, then you sell for above this price. When doing this systematicly and continuously you slowley preasure the market to pay more and more for the same item. By doing this you force people that acctualy NEED and USE the items to pay a unessesary over price for items just because someone is greedy.

But please, don’t confuse this with selling items at a high price. If someone asked me to buy my higley valued “Item X” and I don’t want to sell, I’d tell the person “but everything has it’s price”, then there by sell it to slightly over normal market value. But this is something else, this is not destroying the game with systematic reselling and inflating the market.

And please, don’t bring me the crap “the price is what people are prepared to pay”, because it’s not. We, the people that acctualy NEED the items HAVE to pay your filthy prices because we have NO CHOISE. If we didn’t pay your sickening prices, we wouldn’t have any items, and we couldn’t play.

And please, don’t be bitter because I’m loaded and can afford to play PE using uber items, and you cannot.

No, a quota and a limit on traded items per month is what we need.

Now THAT is sucking shit through a straw … you really NEED these items huh?

I think you need to get your priorities straight.

Also, because you NEED these items so much and are therefore (presumably) willing to pay silly prices, it is YOU that is causing the price inflation, and tehrefore affecting everyone else.

The answer is in YOUR hands … but are clever enough to realise it?

HOW would I perform my profession WITHOUT the items? And don’t make the misstake to chalange my intelligence, you’ll just end up on the ground kicking and screaming.

Oh please. You have no clue. Come back and speak when you have 100K of items. lol
No, as we can see from your neg-rep comment, your intellect is indeed astounding!

Now, to the point, you can perform any profession in PE (hunting, mining, crafting) without paying over the odds. I suspect you just havent worked out how to do so yet. Keep thinking ‘Einstein’ you’ll get there in the end.

I understand E-lites point. E-lite is a hunter, and as he skills up he requires more advanced weaponary, to take on more advanced creatures, in order to maintain a level of skillgain thanks to the skill system changes. Therefore, its no longer a fact that you can just buy a Jester and skill with it, you actually REQUIRE more advanced weaponary in order to fufill your profession. What would happen if seismic bombs were not on the TT but were crafted. And resellers started hiking the price on them to their own ends. Miners would still have to pay the money because otherwise they can’t mine, its the same thing for hunters only its not our ammunition that costs, its our base equipment.

That is why we NEED the items, that is why we MUST pay the prices. Because without the items, there is no hunt, if there is no hunt for a hunter, then there is no game.

Uhmn.. Wasn’t is so that YOU infact put the neg rep on me first? I could post what you wrote in that message, but I’m not lowering myself to your level. You got mail by the way, regarding that intelligence challange. Bring it on.

Now please keep this thread on it’s topic, and don’t flame me just because you’re poor and bitter.

And thanks Ghill, finaly someone experienced explaining it to this newcomer.
