Three new grinding chains have been added for Fishing Gear, Fishing Attachments and Gastronomy. Each chain runs across three tiers (Fishing Gear Gadget 1-3, Fishing Attachment Gadget 1-3 and Gastronomy Batch 1-3), where each tier is built from the one below it, giving a lower cost route to skill progression while consuming common resources. The level 3 starters can be bought from the Fishing Terminal for 20 Daily Tokens each. Higher tier blueprints for the two fishing chains are discovered through crafting, and higher tier recipes for Gastronomy are discovered through cooking. Each chain also has its own set of limited Recycle blueprints and recipes, which convert stacks of the top tier product back into Shrapnel
Changes
Fish with a preferred bait are far less restrictive now. Not using the preferred bait carries a smaller penalty than before, while using it still gives a significant bonus to your chances.
Fishing luck has been reworked. Luck now has a stronger effect on rarer species, and is applied more consistently across casts
Fishing shallower than a species’ minimum depth now sharply reduces your chance of catching it rather than ruling it out entirely, but matching your lure to the species’ full depth is still strongly recommended for the best catch rates
Fixes
The Godly Coralfish Snack Recipe now requires the intended Snack Container 3 instead of Snack Container 1
Fixed an issue where the Snack Container 4 Blueprint, which was never intended for release, could be obtained and only produced Snack Container 1. It no longer drops, and any you already own are now Obsolete Snack Container 3 Blueprints that work the same as a regular Snack Container 3 Blueprint
Fixed an issue where “The boat claw” mission could not be completed if you spoke to Researcher Sandra Johnson while still collecting the boat parts.
Fixed plot and harvest markers drawing over the UI
Opening an order from the construction machine no longer lets your character move while the auction terminal is open
Material customisation now shows guaranteed full saturation as 100%
Fixed an issue where parts of the heads up display could cause blinking
TOULAN
Cuhof Armor Plate Upgrade
The Cuhof Armor Plates can now be upgraded to the following:
CUHOF Armor Plate II
CUHOF Armor Plate III
CUHOF Armor Plate IV
CUHOF Armor Plate V

Ah nice about time for the fishing update. Was getting tired of burning up 500-1000p lures to find 0 or 2 rare fish. Altho with now making fishing hat luck meter overpowered on another aspect of the fishing hat I hope you are continuing to drop more of them. Had bunch of people waiting for more to drop just for cooking end of it now for fishing end of it will be even more peeps. Thanks for this.
@Ludvig_MindArk when you say the new craft gizmo type deal finds blueprints and makes a way to skill, but regular crafting still “discovers” blueprints. Are you saying now that I have discovered for example “glowstick lure” that anyone can find it thru the new gizmo crafting or that ONLY normal crafting is the only way to ever find (not just first time discovery) the rare high tier blueprints regardless.
EDIT: nevermind Ludwig I just found out there’s no such thing as a high end lure anymore and my huge stash of 30k ped of them is just a storage decoration now.
The way Cooking works with all ingredients needing fish is one of the STUPIDEST implementation (possibly in history of gaming). This was done by someone incompetent because even AI would know not to have ALL RECIPES using JUST fish as main ingredient, but split into 3 different segments:
fish
animal meat
vegetables & fruits (farms)
Should have been these 3 based on how often the buffs or how special the buffs are. For autoloot or lifesteal you could have used fishing, but for something like faster reload, or damage, etc, you should have used just animal meat as base ingredient.
Should have been nicely spread out, but, instead we get this …
I’ve wrote this several times, and I probably will several times more, because what you guys did with Cooking is unacceptable (terrible thinking).
I thought this the same way before it and wanted nothing to do with any of it. I still don’t even remember how or why I got involved with it in the first place but it’s not as bad as you think. Infact with new players having an avenue of profit right away probably has got to help retention. There’s was a great social aspect as well but that got wrecked once they added fish to AH. I still can’t understand why they did that the fees are too high and before it people could have an important starter role to play as a trader for daily fish. Maybe they added animal oil for some of the new gizmos from mobs idk but they did add a lot of skins from mobs but it’s for lures so not enough of a sink.
Thanks for another update that brings our world forward. Very much appreciated, indeed
Well, it seems this was the problem for me not catching rarer types of fish all along? LOL That no-luck-bug I carry around with me my whole life is finally challenged: A quick fishing trip after the update, and voila, seven new fish types appeared in my loot. So, thanks for this. Indeed, I could not be more happy today
I have just one question: This was mostly a fishing/cooking-related update (at least for Caly), with 3 new UL BPs added for skill progression. Nice addition, indeed, but also 3 more spots taken in personal storage. When can we expect the BP books for UL fishing/cooking related BPs? It has been many moons since this tease was added to the description of these BPs, but no books have been added yet to ease the load on our personal storage capacity limit. Just asking … because I am in a very good mood today thanks to the new fish
Anyway, thanks a big bunch there, MA team! Another great update!
Holy crap. You guys just nuked fishing and rare lure gear and knowledge entirely? Wtf even is this. I just got home from work. I had bought and gambled 10ks of ped on finding rare lures and bought lures that do absolutely nothing now. It’s just open season for fish botters to get every kind of fish. What even is the point of the gizmos for gear when the dam gear is useless. Nothing about this update makes any kind of sense its like the complete opposite of balance. Mannnn I was actually happy for a second thinking you fixed the bugs and made the rare fish slightly more common (for THAT specific lure) rather than 2 a day and instead come back to a wrecking ball where all investment, knowledge, and skill went right out the window. This has got to be a joke or something. It’s just completely pointless now. The only reason any MU has even been holding was because undercutting morons didn’t have access to every single thing without any investment. Well now everyone does congrats except no one will want to even do any of it anymore when there is no markup or any sense of progression when none of it actually does anything. MAYBE the gastro blueprint is good idea, I havnt tried it yet but everything else just went so far backwards I’d rather the dam fish still be bugged and broken than whatever this is.
They are just trying to fix the whole system, because they realized, its not working well (or as they thought).
But when an idea is s- -t from the beginning, no matter how much chocolate you put on, it will still stay s- -t on the inside.
We are in the “putting chocolate on phase”, next phase is “putting on some sprinkles” and then they will just move on to something else.
You clearly misunderstood the point of fishing and cooking. It wasn’t to give any kind of markup to hunters, it was to remove markup from hunters and give it to new players instead. Adding meat and stuff from mobs would make no sense. It isn’t stupid, it works exactly as it should. Me and others pay for cheap new players.
Markup on everything fishing related is too high so more drops all around is a good thing for the economy even though it might be a bad thing for you personally
