Do you like the new Sweating System?

With VU 10.2, a new sweating system has been implemented. Now we need this free and decayless tool called “VSE Mk 1” to gather Sweat.

How do you like it?

I seriously think this will get more people hooked then the mumbo jumbo with the arms waving :smiley:

As i don’t sweat but i have in the past and tried the new way for a couple of minutes… for me it’s too early to like or dislike but there is one major flaw with it now… it needs a proper beam so us hunters can easily avoid killing sweated mobs. So on that basis i have to say “prefer the old”

I liked the old way, but cant say I dont like the new system… still too early to tell, but it is interesting to say the least :slight_smile:

I will miss the old song & dance, but this way seems to be a serious attempt to make sweating less prone to abuse, and more engaging for a gamer. I think this is an excellent change.

I think it is a neat change and hope that more powerful sweat gathering tools can be found/crafted.

Maybe add in some 1 PED TT (L) gatherers that decay 0.01 PEC (yes, PEC, not PED) per click and have either a faster reload or extract more sweat per use.

I never liked to sweat before, and tried out the new way and still dont:laugh:. BUT maybe the new players will like it. It is kinda better than it was before:D

I think the New Sweating system is Ok.

I’m not as high a level of sweat gatherer as Akbar or someone high level in SG, but I’ve done my fair share. I’m just Level 13 SG skill.

It feels like you shooting and you can actually find out when you are gathering sweat.

Unlike before, you kept going, and going, and going, and going but didn’t know when you will pull some sweat.

Downside is that I went to gather my first sweat on the new system and got 1 bottle from my first pull! LOL! I thought ,“Oh s*** this is going to take some time.” After an hour, I pulled 100 bottles. I used to pull 350-400 bottles an hour.

Prices of sweat should go up a bit along with ME and Nexus with it. One month it will smooth out and the market will determine fair prices for these Sweat.

Though I would like to see Focus Chip enabled again.

Haven’t used the new tool but fully endorse the new 1-4 bottles pull rate as new players dont have any evade and so wont get the old 10x “[COLOR=“Pink”]The Sweat Acquiring Failed” messages so will be less frustrating for them.

I also like the look and idea behind the tool, looks funky!

I am lead to believe further versions will be available in time that can be decayed to accumulate more sweat and possibly other resources from mobs :wink:

Maybe animal oils & animal residue from animals and mineral oil, robot & metal residue from robots;

Available maturities based oils (animal, eye, thyroid, etc) on animals and the collecting of resource from robots (residue, mineral oil, metal residue, etc) unlocked based on gatherer level achieved limiting the use of more enhanced versions of the tool. MK.II, III, IV, V

^^ This could also lead to the possibility of crafted gatherer tool (L) blueprint (L) being dropped for crafters to make these higher edition tools, using in part those resources gathered by the tool itself - residues, oil both animal & mineral - and maybe lyst from the miners [COLOR=“Blue”]& iron argo hunters in the economy as well :wink:

[COLOR=“Purple”]^^ Let us not forget some low end dropped robot components - Mix in some link-cables, heat-sinks, filters, buffers, lenses, etc to craft the tools.

Addition 1: Texture - Timber, stone & animal hide resource extraction

There is also the possibility of extraction of timber from trees (Firn, bigwig, etc), extraction of stones from rocks (brukite, rutol, kaldon, etc) and why not also extraction of metal plating from robots & texture hides from animal mobs;

Or mini samples refinable to the full timber, robot plating & animal texture hides in the energy refiner;

Addition 2: Extraction of ‘Paint Pigments’ from plant life on Calypso

Over history paints have been made from pigments extracted from plants. This has been done by extracting the pigment from the plant and mixing it with oil, cooking it up into a sticky oil based paint.

Higher gatherer level & tool can allow for the extraction of pigment resource from the different plants located across Calypso;

These pigments can be added with animal oil residue in the energy refiner to produce the corresponding paint cans :wink:

^^ It is a new “extraction beam technology” after all - Handling different beam frequencies (higher gatherer tools) can be limited by gatherer level.

Who knows,

However having a tool based device opens up many more possibilities than the prior use of the hands and chanting.

I like the new system… and I agree with Lava… with some creativity, the new system could lead to bigger and better things. :cool:

I kind of like the idea of giving away a crappy one for free and then charging for a better one that decays. We’ll see.

the sound the tool makes hurt my ears. Also it’s to easy getting sweat with that tool. and 1-4 in sweat is pretty much a joke in my opinion, but if it keeps the sweat price high I’m happy :slight_smile: *Note that I seldom sell my sweat.

I think this a good idea.

I said i like it never sweated before much. I wish there were 2 types of beams though,

1st beam being the contact (simple single green beam) then when you actually get a pull then you get all the fancy glowing effects.

Im just downloading the update now so I havent tried sweating yet. But I sweated alot when I began and go back once in a while to re-up my supply or for fun or other reasons. So I`ll reserve this space and come back with my thoughs after I try it out.

i like it as well

it needs more attention to aim when you want the sweat, the reload is faster

not 6 seconds praying you dont get hit, then 6 seconds waiting praying you get sweat or something like that

so i think its good

the 1-4 sweat bottles per pull should be good as well
when i started we got 1-5 and i am still here :silly2:
(ok, that may be an arguement against it)

but what i wanted to say, that the price will adjust

the rough “ped per hour” with sweating from my days to the sweat per hour when it was 2-22 per pull was more or less the same

so it doesnt have to be bad at all

I think is a welcomed change… for now anyway; we’ll see how it goes in about a month or so.

I think overall this will be a good thing. Keeps players more engaged, makes it tougher to create a sweat bot, the server border exploit is probably gone, and only getting 1-4 bottles a pull will certainly help to maintain a more stable market for sweaters. Probably get about the same price per time spent as before, but it’ll help in terms of overloading the market with sweat, as was the case before.

We still need some more uses for mind essence though… :wink:

And I definitely see some more powerful sweat tools in the future. Maybe every pull is a success but the tool decays. Probably a required sweat gatherer level to use them too as the new tool requires a zero level. Finally a use for SG skill!
