why MA doesnt apply Crypto Blockchain to game?

No, you don’t need to do that. But answering a question instead of calling out people is an option you know. I still fail to see how it would make the game better. Faster withdrawals would be nice, but i don’t see this happening soon as MA is the biggest limiting factor in this, and they have their reasons for doing so.

If the game is really dying like you said, then it’s not because of the long time it take to withdraw money. Has always been like that, not that i don’t want it to be improved, but this is not the innovation that would keep the game from dying.

Speed of withdrawal is a problem, imagine if all customers in a bank could withdraw all their funds instantly, you really think MA would accept that kind of systematic businessrisk? You really think MA (or any bank for that matter) have a IRL cashflow to sustain a withdrawal of all peds ingame (or bank deposits) instantly? No sir, not on this earth.

I sure will. From a player perspective, I’d like to really OWN the armor, guns etc etc. that I have in storage. I’d like to put it on a 3rd party exchange without the need of logging on and putting the stuff on AH. If I have excess peds, I’d like to trade that ped for USD or other token, and be able to use that money in another game without having to use a credit card (with currency fees and what not). Not to speak of having to wait 2-4 months for my withdrawal (it’s insane!). Player-owned EU funds could issue shares and distribute payments and rewards without excel sheets and the need for simultaneously being online. This is just scratching the surface.

From MAs perspective, this would draw in a new (and big) crowd, which means revenue. And there’s the real risk of time and technology running away from MA, and the players with it. Adapt or vanquish. Let not MA be another Kodak moment.. (they didn’t believe in digital cameras…look how well that went)

Blockchain currency in itself is just gambling… MA better stays away from that crap…

Also Blockchain is a very inefficient way to store data.

But how would it be possible to own the ingame items when they dont exist other than on your account?

NFT’s exist on a blockchain. You own the keys.

Here is an NFT marketplace:

https://opensea.io/

notice how there’s items from various virtual worlds and games as well

https://opensea.io/assets?search[categories][0]=virtual-worlds

and notice there’s no section for entropia universe, like there should be.

And how does this make any sense? What good can possibly come out of people beeing able to buy and sell ingame stuff outside of the game? Other than inflation of prices (thats pehaps just what youre after?)

But ermik, you don’t get it!

As Taldur said above:

The day that MA would implement this I would instantly sell out and make the run for the exit with my money.
If you want to gamble on crypto rates, just open a trading account somewhere.

I would do exactly the same, and many other people I talked about on this topic.

I don’t understand why crypto topics keeps coming back, it’s something that should never happen to this game.

who are you to decide what should happen to this game and what shouldn’t?

you only show that you don’t really have an educated opinion on that topic, and as much innovation potential as mindark itself, sorry. :twocents:

Apologies but I am not particularly au fait with NFTs and how they work in a game. What would stop MA from altering the stats of an item for balance reasons or whatever, even though you and many others may hold the keys to the ownership of said item? The presumed benefit of this ‘ownership’ surely ends at point where MA would still require the absolute authority over certain aspects of EU such as balancing.

It seems like a lot of benefits such as being able to trade items outside of the game could also be achieved a lot easier without using a blockchain. Hell, even a web interface or just an API for the AH would be nice.

Agree totally.

Start your company then, make a game like Entropia and make up your own rules, and make millions on your brilliant ideas.

There is no reason to believe or assume that depo and withdrawal speeds would be faster if a crypto currency was used. I really hope these crypto posts on pcf are a passing trend, like crypto currency itself.

Ya MA would need a massive redesign but that is what I would like to see. I know everyone argues me on this but at least some people agree there could be some easy changes.

It could just be a stablecoin, it doesn’t have to be something that fluctuates.

What is it? do you mean PED?

Stablecoins are a genre of crypto currency that’s pegged to a fiat somehow. Examples include USDC, USDT and BUSD. Each has pros and cons of their own and are used mostly to facilitate trading. If MA were to simply peg to USDC for example it would improve everyones lives immensely. All you would need to do is buy some somewhere and deposit it to MA. SWIFT is such a hassle and so expensive. I don’t recommend Tether though that coin is sketchy AF@@!!
