Restricting supply to increase mark ups maybe?
If so i guess mark ups will reflect new return after a while.
Until then be smart i guess, I just been fishing and playing EQ(ueue) at the noob rig.
Theory - The churn of 24/7 mining bots veiled the fact that MA had set mining returns too high. Removing the bots made the returns crystal clear and thus a change was made.
Seems unlikely that a gaming company wouldn’t realize it had made this sort of error for years, but…
I’d like to hear any other theories on this.

Mining now has similar volatility and returns to the other professions, which is fine I guess. When I was actively mining about 10 years ago, it looked very much like it does now. The main difference was that MU was much higher back then, so making a profit was effortless and now it is nearly impossible (so again same as in other professions).

They removed bots!?
My theory is they want to funnel more players to hunting, the only real profession left in the game.
I’m sure they’d love nothing more than to delete mining and put the loot into mobs. Which they already started to do with space mining.
In a healthy economy maybe. With EU’s demand structure and the unique ability of Entropians to happily play this game at a loss, this could take years.
