What is missing is voting. Unreal tokens should have some voting right attached to them; 3 tokens, 3 votes. MA opens up the voting machines and anytime they think they want to modify a aspect of the game put it to a vote. You want a say in how the game is developed then invest. MA can then save face by implementing aspects they player base voted on. What is voted on and when it is voted on would be the first vote.
FIXED
Heard voting poll been suggested/discussed in Discord and ruled out by Mods there. ?
Some sort of road map would be nice.
IF i would have to choose fixing existing bugs instead of carrot. Iâd choose fixing bugs and systems.
I agree with almost all of OP. A few I donât really think they broke the game. BUT, I am one of the ones that worked my ass off on Mayhems, from the start, I still have some of the tokens needed to enter instances. I hunted, got better gear, did everything I could to try and place to get a rare/placement token to pull a single better gun than I had. Then resource mayhem fucked my EU life to hell. It sucked hairy ass for me and that, IMHO, is what broke the game.
Fashion Queen Alina!
Many things just need further development but they just dont have the ability or size of team to accomplish it. Always chasing the next thing.
Biggest thing that messed up the economy was resource mayhem. Its going to take time to heal that damage.
Hope we hear from MA soon. We need an update! Sure would be nice to hear how unreal 5 is progressing.
Itâs not about voting even if you have the majority of the players vote that the game is messed up that dosenât mean that MA will lift a finger to change anything. I love how people keep hoping about the magical Unreal engine 5 will fix all their problem like some miracle weapon, I donât believe in it if Mindark really had any intention to go to Unreal 5 it would have been done by now. With profits going down i donât think development on that idea is still going.
OT: mostly yes.
I think one should be able to extract properties from a clothing and be able to add it to another. Say, regicide coat. Remove its stats. Be able to add it as a suffix to a storm coat for instance. So you would get a storm coat of regicide. It would combine being fashionable with the stats. Heck add some subtle effects (that you can toggle) aswell.
Lifesteal is great yes, had 5% since Ring 2019 dropped, so I understand how great it is for a hunter, but it directly affected the medical profession, where its obsolete. There were people where it was their core profession. We cant always look at things just for our benefit while others suffer.
In other games, people also look for a unique look with clothes, or with skins in game. It doesnt give you a direct benefit. We dont always have to look at things selfishly. Again, this destroyed someones profession and effort in game. They work years, just for MA to make their whole business obsolete (Without any good reason to).
How is hairstyling and modifying a useless profession? Dont you like markup? Hairspray, Hairgel, Fat, they were 250-300% markup. How was that negative for hunters. You were not forced to change the look, but there was demand for resources because there were only very few options when starting. For premium you had to find someone to do it. How is that negative for game? I would really like to know why you view it this way.
As a healer ingame i will say medical proffesion is not obsolete.
Yep we all agree, lifesteal is great ![]()
Thats what happen when you put a treasure in the hands of greedy amateurs with zero vision.
Obsolete might be a little harsh in regards to healers but for sure its not what it once was.
Im not saying my wording or observation are perfect. OP is just my subjective view, and there are others who may have much better input. (Like in mining kingofaces, makes great points).
All Im saying, is that MANY professions/systems were destroyed or highly affected by bad changes, and I dont see any created in the last 10 years. Texturizer doesnt count as its in similarly bad position as coloring, and besides that we have Space taxis and Space mining. Anything else Iâve missed that was actually created in this regard?
The people at Mindark donât even know why Entropia succeeded. They came up with a concept at the right time and it seemed to catch on enough to be profitable. However, in not knowing what truly fueled the success they have been unable to expand on it properly so they chase fads and aspects that donât actually move the needle or evolve the game. The world and gaming space have changed and MA is clueless on how to truly adapt. So they continue to try to push the same narrative as always and itâs worked enough to keep them afloatâŚ
⌠eventually though, with failure to adapt and expand the game will fail. Even casinos eventually close down when they fail to adapt and draw in new (and most importantly) repeat customers.
Fishing is maybe less than 10 years old as far as actual implementation goes, but Iâd say it is very poorly balanced (as many things are).
As with so many things, the code functions but is hardly touched by players, presumably because of the balancing. You wouldnât even need a programmer in many of the unbalanced systems, just someone who is able to assess what changes to make to parameters.
What went wrong, you ask? Itâs that we continue to have a SNAFU and âcluenesslessâ (for want of a more accurate word). Almost all the bigger changes have made the platform a worse place to be on, maybe actually all of them. Good changes (or ones I personally like) are minor, such as current loot total showing in the loot window⌠stuff like that.
The 2005-2010 team was very good, they implemented so much stuff.
They say LG is fine! They being most members from HC
Tbh hc are probably the ones with the most suggestions on how to make lg better, since we live and breathe it every week. And no, not stuff to make it easier for us, but better over all.

My expectations for the future:
MA only wants (L) items.
This suits them best because you always pay MU on weapons, so there is less chance of making a profit/having fun.
In addition, I expect hunters to get fewer and fewer items in their loot but more and more useless items such as shrapnel for 101%.
EDIT : just check entropiawiki and see less and less items in the loot, same with BPâs no longer dropping.
Miners will have to supply the crafters, but this will certainly be made more and more difficult by putting more and more fillers in the returns⌠most of which will be converted to nanos.
And finally, crafters. For newbies, this will have to be done via (L) BPs because I donât expect many new UNL BPs, not even as components.
The rest doesnât interest MA in the slightest because it doesnât benefit them in any way and can therefore disappear.
I also have the strong impression that they are copying other games that are successful :
Space mining = Eve Online
Tanks in PVP = World of Tanks
Edit : Character sheet = WOW
What will be next?
To use the thread title a bit - what went wrong in that sentence?
Are you being serious, cynical, or something else?
Surely it is in MAâs interest for players to have fun, and for some to make a profit (the ambition in RCE), which can partly be from MA profits and partly from playersâ willingness to pay the MUs to the selling players (for whatever reason).
Or you implying that at least some decision-makers at MA are sadistic by saying it suits them best to lessen fun?
Please bear in mind that MU is paid by players TO players, and not to MA. I would say the point is that it is better for the in-game economy for it to have more turnovers that people can try to utilise and profit from whilst always paying a cut/rake to MA in some way.
From another bit in your post, I wouldnât mind MA copying some basic feature or concept that can be considered generic by now, as long as they did it well. But they never do more than a half-arsed job in my estimation (at least not in the last decade or so).
