Using Creature Control Pills

This is more by way of an introductory overview rather than a tutorial, prompted by the most common response I have received when discussing these pills - “I’ve never used one”.

The pills are consumed like any other, and will transform you for a period of time into that particular mob.

While in that form, you will be able to attack other players as the mob (including vehicles, as I saw huge Ava-controlled Chimera demonstrate during Longtooth event).

You will be immune to turrets and other mobs, so free range ftw.

You can be shot and killed by players, and they will loot the mob, not you - you will revive at nearest term as yourself.

If the pill times out before the mob is killed, you can choose to extend the time for a few PED, or you will revive at term, leaving the now uncontrolled mob available for regular killing - run back, kill it, loot it if you can.

There are skill level requirements for some, but most of the event pills can be used by anyone - boorum vamp, pumpkin… check item info panel to be sure.

As far as I know, pills come from strongboxes and P2P trade. Some are not tradeable, many are.

That’s my experience, which is by no means extensive, so if I have missed anything, please add below.

Here’s a visual impression what it looks like with a consumed creature pill:

Thanks that’s really interesting to know about how they work. Didn’t know that you can extend time or that the mob persists after you stop inhabiting it. Seems odd you revive if the creature is still alive but meh, ho hum.

Do you revive with health intact if you didn’t die as the mob?

CCP’s have been given as event/occasion presents (which is where mine came from).

Yeah, if it times out you revive at full health… if I remember correctly. Caught me by surprise, also wasn’t aware that timeout leaves it standing.

these are all, i mean all new info for me, thank u for sharing, shadow ‹‹(´ω` )/››

Yes.

if you die during creature form it is same as any death so down to zero HP we go.
