using armor attachments.

Do all the pieces of armor need to have the attachments on them, before they are effective?

If not, what order would you start putting the attachments in ?

my thoughts on order …

  1. Harness
  2. Arm Guards
  3. Helmet
  4. Thigh Guards
  5. Shin guards
  6. Gloves

I’m also considering just getting differnent sets of plates for different prey (i.e. 5b for cut, stab, impact creatures, 6a for droids and bots). Because even when I upgrade my armor, I can use the plates on them.

Can someone help me out with the stats for Armor attachments 4C, 5D, and 6A ? Ilooked but cant find charts that have those.

Thanks
Az

I think those plates have these stats.
4C 3 impact, 9 electric
5D 2 stab, 2 cut, 4 penetration, 12 cold, 6 acid
6A 11 impact, 12 burn

At one point I had found a full chart of them but I can’t seem to find it again, it might be on my system at home.

Putting attatchments in armor is just like wearing only parts of a suit. If you get attacked in that area that piece of armor takes full responsibility for it with whatever stats it’s at at the time.

I haven’t done any real checking on what it’s like, but I do remember noticing the first time I took out a set of 5As on a bunch of Tantillions that the harness had decayed the most, and the facemask and gloves I think were barely touched at all. One other part was damaged more than the rest too, but I don’t remember if it was the arms or the thighs.

Thanks.

I plan on doing some experiments when I get a little more time and peds  Such as which mobs hit where the most. Then you can set up your armor according to what you’re going to be fighting (excluding being jumped by other mobs).

Of course I’ll have to do this with averaging. And while it may not be absolutely accurate, it will give me an idea of how to better prepare.

do plates work like attachments on weapons… where you have to remove them in order to repair? if so, what a pain in the :censored:

If Terra doesnt reply to this thread, PM him, he’s got a list of all the attachments and their benefits/decay.

Yeah they do. You have to detach them, then repair both your armour and the plates, then re-attach them before donning them again. Not much of a pain unless you have different plates which you wish to use on certain pieces of armour (like if you have mixed armour and try to balance them up)

6A has
11 Penetration not impact  and of course
12 Burn

and yes you have to remove platings to repair them..

and it seems like mobs tend to hit in this order:
Harness
Thighs
Arms
… not sure of the rest,
of course I do not claim this to be the holy truth though..

Worth mentioning that if the plating decay’s to the point where it stops working, then the piece of armour it’s attached to stops working too.

You know that great ‘feature’ where your amp has decayed so the gun does no damage at all but you still use ammo? It’s like that. Your harness can be almost full TT, but the if plate is knackered then the harness wll continue to decay but it will offer no protection at all. You gotta love MA.

order of decay (ive tested it myself):

Harness
Thighs
Arms
Shins
Mask (or Helmet)
Gloves

Thanks everyone, I’ve learned alot today indeed

Just another stat for you stat keepers

Completed my set of 6A plates. Tested them on robots near a drop ship. Results were that without the plates, in my nemesis armor I’d be hit for the average of 57.5 damage by Warrior Gen 2. With the plates, it was hitting me for an average of 34.7 . So with my 95 HP I would be killed on second hit without the plates, but could last till the third shot with them. This meant that with luck in my hitting them, I can take them out  I’m able to handle all the drones, and have taken out Warriors up to Gen 3.

I’ll let you all know about my 5B (Creature protection) plates after I have them all

Thanks

Wanda, I think the 6A is 11 penetration, not impact. But as you can see, either way it helped

Thanks
