i’m in the age group of being too old for this s… ![]()
They should just give us 100% tt return in all activities and make income on taxes and fees and stuff like tier upgrades. Maybe give over 100% sometimes from some fund from decay or something.
Like why does this game need to be a casino?
it’s only a casino if you play it like a casino.
How do I get UL weapon drops and avoid the casino part?
That is the only way that it can work. random intermittent reward is the function that keeps most players playing
Not possible
Ice says you can do it without it being a casino though
The reward mechanic shouldn’t be TT return but should be WHAT you loot. Like EVERY OTHER GAME.
All he does is train other peoples pets or walk around doing nothing
Then it works. At least they delivered it.
Can’t make people play it though. That’s a whole different problem. But it is an easier one than current state.
Why can’t the game have both?
Have some areas where high rollers can hunt — high risk, high reward — while also making regular parts more accessible for everyone else.
Why not allow people to grind without constantly looking at their PED card? Put skill requirements on weapons and offer shortcuts such as skill packs for people who are willing to pay for them.
People will pay for convenience. EVE Online already shows that players are willing to spend money to avoid some of the grind. But you also need to make people actually want to spend money on the game.
Entropia is unique because it combines fresh graphics with an actual player-driven economy. That could be a huge selling point for attracting new and returning players.
Make the game more accessible, and people will be much more willing to spend their money on it.
It probably won’t actually work at first. Basic functionality will be there and subsystems will be added later. We probably will lose our planet(s) again, like it was with the migration from gamebryo to cryengine. I can still dream of visiting the molisk site south of limnadian (although it hasnt been around since 2010). They at least made an effort to make Minopolis a Polis again, I love the towers they brought back and the houses. Ofcourse its still not as vibrant as it used to be in gamebryo.. I fear that some places will forever be gone again. Last migration the subsystem taming took a long time to be brought back. We wished for rideable pets, but that never materialised. In fact a lot of promises never materialised. I think its best that Mindark doesnt promise anything, but just deliver what they can, and inform us after it has been implemented.. Otherwise we would be dreaming of Mechs, for example.
My hope is what the title says.. what if it actually works.. that would be a huge achievement. So far I have been quite optimistic about the content that was delivered the last 2 years.
If today’s VU has learned us something it’s that MA has totally lost the connection with the users. Bugs can happen and is annoying but can be fixed. What is worse are the choices that have been made that all lower the user experience by removing functionality, or make it more difficult to do our actions.
- Consult the playerbase
- Consult specialists
Until then, i’m not positive about this games future after UE5.
Exactly. I’ve mentioned elsewhere that there should be a beta test group made of active players who can be these specialists.
Thing is back then the game looked very well compared to other games. There were some looking way better ofc… but it seems that somehow, the progress was so little throughout the years that gamers refuse to try the game based on how bad it looks and this is for quite some time. With every UI update ment to bring consistency and better strucure we have worse consistency and things are just bad. And that’s the case for us that stayed for worse and worse.
With the level of vibe coding also using cheap and very bad AI models, chances to make out of what we have today a game to hook new generation of players under UE5, are very close to 0.
Lipstick and Kneepads.
Judging how they launched the recent vu.. they are likely to launch ue5 full of bugs and to have us report and fix again. Some bugs they not fix like the movement key icons not working properly.
Hope people will be bit better prepared mentaly wise by then. ![]()
What Next-Gen Combat & Engine Physics Means in UE5 ? with Entropia Universe
Action-Oriented Combat: Moving beyond legacy tab-targeting toward responsive movement, collision physics, directional hitboxes, and weapon recoil.
-
Physics-Driven Avatar Systems: Upgraded skeletal animation rigs, soft-body hair physics, and cloth dynamics. This affects weapon aiming stances, movement speed penalties under load, and collision detection when taking cover or dodging attacks.
-
Dynamic Hitboxes & Aim Alignment: A move away from pure legacy tab-targeting toward physical projectile collisions, line-of-sight tracking, directional hitboxes, and weapon recoil patterns. Headshots or hitting creature weak points could yield varying damage output.
-
Fluid Movement & Locomotion: Physics interactions like momentum-based sliding, terrain elevation drag, jump physics, and ragdoll effects on defeated creatures rather than static death animations. using jump slide and crouch to gain advantage in the RCE
-
Environment-Driven Combat: Environmental hazards, physics-based destructible cover, and line-of-sight obstructions playing active roles during planetary events and boss encounters.
-
but with specific constraints dictated by the game’s Real Cash Economy (RCE):
-
Skill vs. Stat Balancing: MindArk must balance player twitch-aiming skills with legacy avatar skill points (e.g., Rifle, Handgun, Anatomy). Higher avatar skills will likely tighten bullet spread and recoil patterns rather than completely replacing player aim.
-
Cost Efficiency Adjustments: Physical mechanics like weapon recoil or missing shots directly impact your cost-to-kill ratio. High-precision physics will require players to adapt their combat habits to maintain efficient return-on-investment (ROI).
The next Era for Entropia Universe could be interesting a mix of the old Entropia and the new Entropia
