A better looking slot machine is still a slot machine until the devs redo the game economy it will remain so even with Unreal 5 - its the pricing cost /play a month that drives people away
You want them to switch to a suscription model? That will just instantly kill the game! All that money people invested in their key if they did that would be catastrophic for the players and the economy and MA.
We can have best of both gives mindark a stable small income. Between $20 and $60 with different items in the pass each month. Needs to be cheaper to play and enough engaging content to keep players coming back. They don’t have to switch to subscription they can have both best of both worlds
Subscription+ battle pass per month. It would work if it was planned properly.
With unreal engine 5 and beyond it should be a proper skill based game image Fortnite or call of duty but in Entropia Universe.
Imagine a call of duty skills based system in Entropia where real life hand eye and brain co ordination play a major part.
With real money prizes and items.
Some people under estimate what entropia universe could become it could become much more than what it is today.
How many people here on this forum and entropia has tried playing call of duty and Fortnite games ? Entropia Universe could be just like that
It could become a universe like the movie ready player one.
They need a new business model for those that can’t deposit huge amounts of money $60 should be able to last a month playing 24 hours a day
Good markup to be had atm, nanocube 102%, output 158%+ is spectacular I’m coming back after some months hiatus.
It is being negligent and refusing to learn and adapt to their levels
“Early access to Unreal Engine 6 from Epic Games is planned to open at the end of 2027. Full—fledged release: 12-18 months after the start of early access - approximately in 2028”
sorry, but I think by the time Entropia is actually announced on AE5, the game will be outdated again.
And you’ll have to do the job all over again.
To hell with subscription games!. Then there will be 100 people left.
This game is an economic pvp. learn how to make money at an auction.
Fortnite is a game for schoolchildren and snotty girls. Call of Dirty is not an MMO, but a network shooter. If you want a shooter, go to the rig or red PVP
Well, thats just untrue, heaps of AAA games are only just launching on UE5, UE5 is only just now comming in to its stride, MA are hardly behind the curve just because a new Unreal engine upgrade is 2 years away, and as its not an entirely different engine, to change to it wont need all the work done again, it won’t be that big a deal to upgrade as it was from CE to UE.
There is also another aspect of this that I think gets overlooked: the current cost structure effectively excludes large parts of the global player base.
A hunting budget of $200–$500 a month might already be a significant discretionary expense in Western Europe or North America. In many parts of Eastern Europe and Asia, that same amount represents a much larger proportion of someone’s income. Once you’re talking about $1,000–$2,500 a month just to sustain serious hunting activity, it becomes completely unsustainable for a huge portion of potential players.
That means Entropia isn’t just losing individual players because they don’t like the gameplay — the price of participation itself prevents entire demographics from becoming viable long-term players.
And that’s a huge missed opportunity for a global MMO. There are millions of potential players in regions where people may be perfectly willing to spend money on a game, but they aren’t going to spend the equivalent of several months of disposable income simply to maintain an ammunition budget.
This is why I think the UE5 transition needs to be viewed as more than a graphical or technical upgrade. If MindArk wants the next generation of Entropia to actually grow, it needs to make the universe accessible at different levels of spending.
You should be able to participate meaningfully without having to maintain a Western-level disposable income.
Otherwise UE5 could give us an incredible new universe that a huge part of the world simply can’t afford to enter.
Well P2W games have no issues in attracting and retaining whales. Many of them attract thousands and in some cases hudnreds of thousands of active players where about 30-50% actually spend on them.
Those are all scams.
EU is different because when you do deposit it holds real value, the key is making sure to understand how to budget and make the most of that deposit. Best way is to invest it into gear or items or become a trader.
EU is niche because it has a real cash economy. That element alone you would think would be enough to get hundreds of thousands of players. But 23 years later and that is not the case.
UE5 is certainly something that might help bring new players but not thousands all at once. Low hundreds in the first weeks/months and overtime some of those will quit. Retention has always been MA’s biggest issue.
Because P2W games are heavily advertised that brings in thousands of new players every single day to those games. If MA just actually spent some money on marketing this game actually might have 10K or even utp 50K active players right now or who knows maybe even more. The world population is 8.31billion, if we could just get 100K it would make this game and the economy so much fucking better!
That is why I chose to make those websites to help and try bring in new players. So far zero! ![]()
good points. now we have “AI” with synth or fake players “playing” for no none reason that they have ever said. Players know their track record. New UI, graphics, etc = great, but how about markup, better returns, better communication? Those are what current players need and new players need to stick around.
That was supposed to be the whole point of CLD I thought - raise capital to use on marketing and what we got was a facebook page, posts that get 6 likes and I dunno what else.
The issue is MA have relied heavily on players spreading the word or more recently players making websites to help advertise the game so they do not have too. Before that they relied on PP’s to do it for them too.
Yeah the new CEO has made changes and Socrates does now actually help by doing those twitch streams but again that is still to the same niche audience and playerbase that knows about them.
We need a MASS marketing strategy. Not just facebook pages but on TV, Sponsoring well known YT influencers, YT advert campaigns. There is loads of ways they could get the game out to the masses too.
Another reason I do not think they do is because they are scared because of the bad rep this game has had over all these years in terms of people calling it a pyramid scheme and also the links to gambling.
To the mods: this point is merely a discussion and I am not intending anything or implying anything by saying that.
We should be free to discuss reasons behind why you do not advertise the game.
“Imagine a call of duty skills based system in Entropia where real life hand eye and brain co ordination play a major part.”
I would be done if this happened
I’m tired of cycling 500 peds, and my biggest multiplier is a 10x on fucking small Molisk. The current loot system is not sustainable. The player base has dropped, which has resulted in worse returns to make up for their profitability. There’s a reason high-end ubers have liquidated skills and gear. Since their AI community bot is reading the forums. WE WANT REAL LOOT CHANGE WITH UE5.
Same here. Guessing from the fact that the player base of EU is kind of, uhh, “more experienced with life” than in other games, MA hopefully will keep the game playable for the elderly… They even announced a scalable UI with a later release.
said it 10x a hundred - loot and return is the biggest or really only issue in this game. hot topic and many may disagree - but money is tighter than ever for a lot of people. comparing even $70 for a AAA game that I can get 200-500 hours out of vs $70 maybe lasting a week here isn’t sustainable. We’ll get off topic quick, but I think point remains that UE5 is needed upgrade, but how will we define that it “worked”?
I have my doubts.
The doubts starts with both clients running at the same time. Unreal engine for some, cryengine for others.
It will temporarily work as your see alot old returning players check it out, but the core mechanics and loot manager etc are still the same!
So unless they radically change something the hype will just fade out. You can have all the fancy graphics all you want on the game, but in reality when it’s killing you ped wise day in day out your wallet will determine if it’s worth it or just buy another game.
Not being all negative ue5 does add one massive benefit I believe they can fairly easy transition to another ue engine so like a few years dev work can be saved to implementing other stuff further down the line!
Lol, “the elderly”. I don’t want to say I qualify for that label. But that might be left up to others to decide. would be an interesting poll… What age group are you in? Under 20… 20-30… 30-40… 40-50… 50-60… 60+
