The Sweat Gathering Guide

Sweat Gathering…

Sweat Gathering is the ability to gather Vibrant Sweat from Calypsian creatures. It is somewhat tough (especially with the new VU), but you may get started with the money. You must sell Vibrant Sweat to other people, or save it for your own use.

So, if you are curious and clever, you will probably ask : Why should people buy Vibrant Sweat from me ? What’s the use ? Can’t they gather Vibrant Sweat themselves ? Well, that’s easy. When they are skilled enough, players cannot gather Vibrant Sweat anymore. Now what’s the use ? One word. Mindforce !

You can get details about Mindforce and Vibrant Sweat refining here.

How to do it : Within a 30-meter range (2 circles on the radar counting from the middle), don’t move and left-click on a monster in order to concentrate, then when you’re done concentrating, left-click again to gather some Vibrant Sweat (you can move during this second step). HINT: Pick a slow monster, or get a friend to lure it for you. Remember mutants (Biffoid, Calamusoid, Feffoid) and robots have no sweat to give. Molisk Young is very good, though.

Amount :

  • 1 to 5 bottles from each successful attempt.
  • The success probability is very low, keep trying.
  • You cannot get any Vibrant Sweat from dead monsters, stuck monsters or dry monsters.

Errors :

  • “The Sweat Gathering failed” : You were unsuccessful, try again. Make sure the monster is free.
  • “Dead creatures cannot supply sweat” : You are trying to gather Vibrant Sweat from a dead monster.
  • “You may not acquire any further sweat from this creature” : The monster is dry, get someone to kill it, or turret time

Limits :

  • Each monster has a fixed amount of Vibrant Sweat on itself. The tougher the monster, the longer you can gather Vibrant Sweat from it.
  • Capped at 120 Sweat Gathering if you are a Newbie in every other skill, else probably much lower. Don’t worry, SG skills are very slow.

Market value : 2.0-2.5 PEC/bottle (yes, well read, PEC, not PED) depending on the amount…

Attributes involved : Intelligence, Psyche
Skills involved : Concentration, Courage, Sweat Gathering

Sweatdrops :dunce:

  • Sabakuma Young : 14 Vibrant Sweat
  • Sabakuma Mature : 17 Vibrant Sweat
  • Snablesnot-Female Young : 21 Vibrant Sweat
  • Plumatergus Young : 25 Vibrant Sweat
  • Berycled Young : 30+ Vibrant Sweat

I’ll have to scan the monsters in order to see which stats determine the amount of Vibrant Sweat available on them.

Sorry, this one was rather short, but if you have anything else for me to write here, just tell me and get credits

how about the new "trapping"method, meaning> aloot of nubs standing in acircle with an animal between them, animal kills first nub,>goes to second>kills>goes to 3th. etc.

ofc. nubs have to come back and stand back in their place

Nice guide, Franck! :wise:

I’ve actually started enjoying the new method of group endeavor sweating, esp. at Phoenix.
Its amazingly social & most newbies are really appreciative to have some one gather the MOBs and take the hits while FAPing. Plus, as was stated, when a newbie does end up getting himself killed…baddaBing baddaBang…he/she is back in the game.

my soc mate did some tests and came to the conclusion that you can sweat a mob successfully twice the number of stamina it has.. so for a mob with 15 stamina that’s 30 successfull sweat attempts… the actual amount of sweat a creature has still eludes him.. it seems quite random..

i did some tests of my own and can more or less confirm this ( the more or less is due to the fact that i did not sweat every type of monster so my results were not absolutely conclusive, but those i did sweat seemed to comply to the theory.. ), also this was pre- VU update so the rule may have changed.. they like to do that so i’ve been told…

What you’re saying, then, is that a Sabakuma Young will drop a total of 14 sweat? Or will have 14 successful sweats (of unknown amount)

That seems to match the other theory in principle, but not in numbers. How does stamina relate to HP, though? If HP=stamina, then a Sabakuma young would have a lot more than 14 drops

HP = 10*Stamina, Shade :slight_smile:

Thanks for clearing that up!

The guide is good except… where do you find the critters to sweat? I mean, I just started out and I have on idea which way to head out of town to find something I can sweat that won’t chase me down and maul me before I get anything accomplished.

now see that’s the problem now.. before you used to be able to get a mob stuck where it can’t get to you and then sweat it from a safe distance..

since the last update though, you can’t attack or sweat a mob that is trapped.. so you either need to creep up on one and grab a sweat before it sees or smells you, or get together with someone else to take the hits for you..

there should be plenty of people who want to practice their first aid skills who won’t mind you sweating the mobs hitting them..

alternatively, you could offer your services now as a sweat runner.. get a mob to chase you, run round in a big circle so that others can sweat it.. charge 10 percent of their sweat haul as a fee… or cash..

Exactly

Choose one -

  1. Pick a slow monster. Younger means slower in most cases. Molisk Young is fine for a sweat-and-run hunt.
  2. Team up with a FAP skiller (if you are lucky enough to find someone with a Mod FAP, make sure you tell him/her to go get something big to skill on :D) and share the income. Once you trust in each other, swap places. You will both benefit from this.
  3. Join a n00b party in Camp Phoenix / Port Atlantis.

Don’t forget Sweat Gathering is capped, so gather as much Vibrant Sweat as possible before skilling with anything else. Specialists can sweat for ages.

Also remember you can improve your defence skills and HP for free just by getting hit… Evade is quite useful if you are planning to become a hunter/huntress.
