System Requirements

My computer meets all the games system requrements but one: My computers ram is 480Mb

Is it still possible for me to play the game?

I am running on windows XP and have a pentium 4 2.2ghz computer.

Any assistance is appreciated!!

Yeah you should be fine, I played on same spec but with 256 ram for awhile and it was ok for me so long as you have decent connection speed.

Thanks for the help!

I was wondering if you HAVE to have an ATI or NVIDIA GEForce graphics card because my current graphics card can play Halo and it is a 32mb SiSx graphics card.

Any help is a appreciated!

I think with that kinda graphics crad you may struggle and defently wont get the best look out of PE, you should be able to play pe be will probely have to avoid big city like PA and twin peaks, a cheap upgrade to a 128 or 256 grapcis card witch is less than £100 gbp for 256 would give you vastly superior graphics and speed.

Hmmm…Well I live In Canada and those ATI video/graphic cards are pretty expensive around 200 bucks…

Well atleast the new ones.

I might get the All-In-One wonder for christmas!

See you in PE!

Don’t. The All in ones are pretty crappy and won’t work well with PE. If you want a reasonably priced card try Ebay.

With out knowing what your Motherboard specs are (AGP or PCI slots) I’d hazard a guess that’d you be able to find what you need.

256Mb ram is not enough for PA. 1Ghz is good, try at least 2 Ghz on a Pentium 4, Pentium M, AMD Athlon XP 2000+, AMD Sempron 2000+ or better.
You should have a faster (not bigger) hard drive, those that have 8mb cache are pretty good. If your ram gets filled up, (use about 1Gb for perfect gameplay) your windows swaps out memory parts. That uses the hard drive.

I can play on a [trademark] laptop, with 256Mb ram, 800-1600Mhz Pentium M, 40Gb HDD (5400 rpm :frowning: ). I get about 256-384kbps on my net, I use about 64kbps while playing. The laptop has a good video card, ATI 9000, so the only problem is loading textures, interaction windows, new spaces, teleports. The system freezes for seconds while swapping on the low speed hard drive.

Bottom line, ANY new computer made with NEW parts is ok.

I hate all-in-wonder, they are more expensive than separate parts. Some are better some are worse. Hope you get a nice one RogerRoger489

I wouldnt say that…I have an ATI A-I-W 9800 pro 128…and it works great ! My son uses my old ATI A-I-W 8500 and it works great too.. Just get the right drivers…

Az

Also, no need to get a card of Ebay either because if it goes wrong you have trouble sending it back. Cards are so cheap online nowadays anyway, there is not need.

Just do a search online and you will find some real bargains. Plus, there is no need to buy the really great cards unless you have the bucks and are into gaming heavily and want and need all the bells and whistles. a Good Nvidia 6600 or ATI 9600-9800 series card should be the best you need to go for and they are very very cheap now.

Edited: post came before replying… this is for Azrael

No, those are really expensive, and performant pieces of hardware. It has nothing to do with AIW related issues. PE sais in about 3 places to get the right drivers. Who is not listening? Also, you can tweak the performance of the rendering in the display control panel, a 3rd party tweaker, the client loader options, and the ingame options.

have fun

Does Ati Radeon 9600SE 128 MB Video Card sound good?

I have a 2.2 ghz processor, i am on Windows XP, I have a 480MB Ram, and my internet connection is Sympatico High Speed (100Kb per second i think.)

Any help is appreciated!

yes …at time of purchase they were expensive.. And I also bought them with other graphics projects in mind…so they are not the best selection for this…but if you already have them…then use them.
