Storage woes and Crafted Storage

So, I’ve getting a warning message recently when I access a storage terminal, something along the lines of “Warning, you have too much stuff, buy storage boxes or else”

So I check the amount of items I have using the client loader and it’s less than the 500 items my storage will hold. So I contact MA…

Hi, when I try to access storage, I get a red message in the chat window telling me that I have reached the maximum amount for a storage and I should get rid of some stuff or buy storage boxes.

The storage window tells me I can store 500 items, but the items list in the client loader tells me I have only about 350 items in total, and some of those are not in storage, but on my avatar. So what’s happening?

I dont want things ‘falling out’ of my storage! Oh, and regarding storage boxes, I’d love to buy some but you removed them from the TT’s over a year ago, and we are STILL waiting for crafted storage, so dont you think it’d be nice to remove the message and the limit while we wait for you to offer storage boxes again?

MA respond with this:

Hi! There is a visible limit in your inventory of 200 items at a time. If you have more they will not be loaded. Either move some of your items to another inventory (for example storage) or buy more small bags and place your items in these bags. When this is done you can make a reload and other items will be loaded. Otherwise you will end up loading 200 items at a time and you may have to reload a couple of times in order the load the right ones.
Regarding the storage boxes. There are actually people out there crafting such boxes. Maybe you will be able to buy one via the auction?

Now, this was news to me, and I was a little tired and I’d had a beer, so I responded…

Small Bags? You mean storage boxes right? They seem to be called small bags internally, like in the client loader, but they display as storage box in the game. Plus MA removed them a long time ago and they cant be purchased easily.

Secondly, crafted storage? really? I think you play a different PE to the rest of us, or you know something we dont. I’ve never seen one, nor has anyone else I’ve spoken with. Care to elaborate on this point, perhaps with a screenshot or something, because - and I have to be quite honest here, I dont believe you. Sorry but there it is. People have been waiting for crafted storage for a long time, if someone was making them, I think it would be news enough for me to have noticed.

Perhaps a notice about this hidden 200 item limit could be displayed somewhere, like in the red error message, or in the storage screen, which clearly states I can have 500 items in there, it mentions nothing about only being able to see 200 of them at any one time.

Come on guys, I love the game, help the people out here! Make the error messages make sense and make the storage terminal tell the truth!

I’ve since learned that there is a crafted storage box, called a Small Storage Box rather than the TT Basic Storage box, and it’s a bit, well… crap. So I’m left wondering, what exactly are we supposed to do?

MA seem to want us to have lots of stuff, apartments full of gear, magazine subscriptions with ingame counterparts, deeds for houses, deeds for peds. The list of crap we collect and hoard goes on and on, but where are we supposed to put it all, and what’s with this silly 200 items shown limit?

I’m screaming into my wine glass here, but I’m gonna put the rant on pause now and see if anything develops. Perhaps I’ve missed something, perhaps someone here can suggest something to help?

I think the 200 visible thingie thing is because of loading times, it takes ages to load a full storage, and on an ‘older’ pc or on a slower connection it allready almost impossible :frowning:

But I totally agree they should display it somewhere, I’ve often been thinking about making a support case about it, but lazyness always overwon so I never did, I’m glad you did :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

About the crafted boxes i really really hope there will be some higher lvl boxes where you can put a decent amount of stuff in and that aren’t too costly.
Appartments are almost cheaper storage room than boxes, how insane is that? :confused:

Crafted storage boxes are avaliable. Capacity of those is 10 pieces and 25 kg weight.

Hopefully in the future we can get some attachments to the storage boxes. Crafted of course.

Those attachments could make storage boxes to reduce total weight.

and what kind of strange bug that will make do you think ?

why not make something easy and simple that can work and beeing usefull for all player ?
like storage with grid (like inventaire) you can put max 50 item and max 150 kg , that storage weight 50 or 100 kg …
you can color it like the storage we got.
would be nice to upgrade our storage too..

lets say make it full TT like 10 or 20 ped and craftable…

This is one of the basic in PE. It is to keep up price for old boxes. Same for all items in PE, as mostly has noticed. The basic storage boxes is limited and will forever be limited. Yes, I think that larger boxes would have higher capacity, but then also require more rare ore and therefore be expensive.

We have seen this everywhere before and it will for sure be more noticable. I can talk about items like A204, FAP-90, MD-50, ES500, etc.

In my example, it would be very usefull for miners or hunters that carry so much that they can only walk. If weight reduce because of a weight reducer on their boxes, they could maybe be able to run.

for miner i would prefer saddler bag you put on pet.
bag can be tailored , and colored .
weight you can move depend on pet size and age ..

boxe is for storing and sorting item.. and sad the old box , was allready to small , and can not get anought weight ( 1 full armor max for exemple).
hard to sort item because box dont got grid …

my problem is not if old box should be or not hight end item.
my problem is , why not make an usefull box , that reduce bandwith consuption , allow player to spend less time in opening and closing stupid boxe ( because no enought color choose , no naming …)
MA take all time an strange way that create problem an bugs..

MA ,MA ,MA , sony will reatch your ass one day , you gona stop beeing the only one , and that day , that will hurt a lot , i guess they wont put vaselin

Allways ppl want better thing.
You say that old box was to small. Then why not buy 2 of the old boxes?
Ppl will allways have better stuff. It is natural.

In the future, I think we will have many options and also boxes with more storage volume. Sadle-bag for animals will be cool though, but boxes for transportation of goods in vehicles will also be usefull if quantity is larger.
Technology for weight-reducing would be excellent too as an addition.

Actually - craftable storage boxes are finally coming in next release (due in a week or so).

Yeah thouse boxes cost pretty much i sold mine for like 50 ped each ( i had maybe 10)

Any chance you could let the support department know about this as they seem to be under the impression they are available now.

Not a very consistant flow of informtion here, who are the players supposed to believe? The Community Relations guy or the Support Team ? Hmmmmm.

Yes I too have reached the 200 item visible limit in my storage… here’s an easier solution to the storage center problem: Pages. Each person gets 5 pages which can hold 100 items each (500 items total, like the current limit). Faster loading times, no problem with invisible items, and easier sorting.

As for boxes, we need a “Bag of Holding” (for all of you who play forgotten realms games :)) but its unrealistic for such an item to be put in game.

That must be a glitch, I apologize for it - I’ll talk to them tomorrow. You should be able to believe all of us. Support usually have a somewhat better sitrep on issues, while I usually have a somewhat better insight to how systems work and the vision (as I am a part of the design team as well).

nothing to do with i want better things.
i want at least something “usefull”.
i am not against MA make 75 ,100 items , or what ever other contenanair they want.
if people whant to pay more for bigger max item or less weighty contenair , good for MA and good for crafter.
i was not asking for 600 item contenanir but something usefull like 50 , if MA want 40 i am oki.

but a contenanir with 25 kg and 10 item , in my humble opinion is useless , as mutch for “cleaning” as for reducing bandwith consuption !

shorter storage = more storage = not enought color= i can not reconaisise = i open all to find my crap = lots of time = loss of time = bandwith consuption = contre productive item = stupid idea.

when the old storage came out the 2 eme time ( colorable) i was very that the color was not better implemented , only 1 field is really visible , this mean you can choose in the 4 or 5 PE avaible color , stupid

why not create them " namable" then i can write on my box ( mod fap) and put my 50 mod fap inside .

other problem , they dont get enought weight , 50 kg is tooo low.
i dont speak for miner , i speak for cleaning.
i can not make contenair ( armor ) because its not possible to put more then 1 armor inside.

box are good to clean clothe and BP…

not forgrt thr grid…why in something that made for cleaning we have item in pack …

and dont forget , its hard to keep the box at same place in storage..
and please dont explain how to do it , my box dont move , but from my experience , i know it can move due to what strange things happen in storage…

i will wait to see next “generation” of storage.
but i guess i will laught like usual due to strange bug , and stupid eror made by people that dont gamble in that virtual universe .. oups mean play the game.

Is there any chance to put some code in those boxes in a way that a player can add a short description to each box, which will pop up when he/she will move the mouse over (as description in weapons stats)? I have in my storage like 15 +/- 5 boxes (full) and I will have to buy maybe other 30 to clean the storage. At this moment is very hard to recall where I placed what (I tried to put some colors on boxes, but I found very fast that the combination of colour is finite and easy to forget). Thank you for possible replay !? :stuck_out_tongue:
Edit: this is a suggestion for improving the game; I would do the usual path, using support system, but if the subject was brought here I thought I will not hurt..
