It’s been about 1,5 year since MindArk’s AI slop original announcement where they casually say that planets not transitioning to the Genesis Project technology face extinction within four years.
There is still no clarification… this isn’t a small matter. People have invested thousands of dollars and years of time on planets, estate deeds, items and missions.
So, can MindArk give us an update?
Is the four-year timeline still in effect?
What is the current status of the planet transitions? Did ark and RT (that is now MA owned) agree to transition?
What will happen to owned items if a planet doesn’t transition?
I think atfer 1,5 year some communication would be in place. You know, MA, one of your strongest points
We did get kind of an update during one of the streams I believe where Socrates said something along the lines if you for instance start the Stable grind today you will have time to finish it. Any exploding planets will be announced ahead of time to not screw people over.
The thing is, it is now no longer about UE5 compatibility it seems, as that is apparently coming very soon.
The problem is more to do with having to use the new full toolkit for any further development, but that presumably hasn’t kicked in yet, so when will it? Will MA refuse to allow any partners not willing to take part in content vus, even though pp vus are often minimal anyway? Will they use this as an excuse to take over the pp’s planet, then do almost nothing new with it (a bit like NI)? [I exclude that they have now got the new fishing to work on NI, but adding river/ocean zones is hardly work-intensive, especially when loot tables seem to be 100% under MA’s control anyway].
