That said, the whole idea is a pile of poo. When will paramount learn, we dont give a rats arse what happened in the days set before TOS (the original series). Look at Enterprise it was crap and panned very quickly.
We want to see new adventures set beyond the next gen.
How about a movie where the slightly crapped upon borg (due to voyagers basic principle of being able to beat them with paperclips and glue) assimilate the dominion and we get shapeshifting borg as the new bad guys.??? nah, lets see Kirk shag a load of girls at starfleet academy instead.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I was soooo excited when I first read about hte new movie last year. Then, almost immediately, my high hopes were dashed when the rumors of a SA (Starfellt Academy) storyline was being written for it. Like you said, who cares about that stuff. We’ve heard how Kirk changed the “unbeatable” simulation with the Romulans and was the first person to defeat it. We’ve heard all that. Patrick Stewart has said he’d probably never again wear a Starfellt uniform again, but “damnit Jim”, there are more actors and storylines!
Fans have been asking for a ST:V/DS9 movie forever - since before Nemesis even. Admiral Janeway commanding Captian Sisko. Avery Brooks is such an awesome actor, it’d be a shame to not do a movie with him. He’s nearly 60 too - let’s do it while he’s young. 
So yes, I rant on this topic too. I ear that if this movies bombs, we may be a decade from another release. That’s simply far too long. At least we’ll have the new MMORPG to play until then.
