Skill gains
The main thing at this time is that the skillgains is very changed and as a result of that, the time when you get the unlocked skills.
Earlier you got serendipity at Great pro standing in any fighting class, which basically meant ~3k rifle. However lately ive seen people with 2,9k getting RDA.. So its quite changed..
I haven’t unlocked Serendipity yet either, and I’m taking the same path of the blades to reach it.
It’s still Great Professional Standing from all I’m told, that hasn’t changed..but advancing through the Professional Standings has as Tigerman said - MA made it a good deal harder to move your Pro Standing since the secondary skills (Inflict Melee Damage, IRD, Aim, etc.) all move far slower then the Primary skills.
In my case I’m a Good Swordsman (1 Pro Standing below Great) and have been so for a couple months now. My Longblade is 4611 right now, Melee Combat is over 3.4k (Or higher) and Heavy Melee Weapons is over 3.6k (Or higher) but Inflict Melee Damage is only barely over 2.1k.
It’s the secondary skills that reall affect Pro Standing, that’s why you very rarely see them on auction for sale.
i am a melee user aswell and have unlocked serendipity, i unlocked it at around 4.7k, my ex-soc mate Sendaran locked it around 4.8k if i recall right.
so closer to 5k in LB.

it should unlock just before great prof standing (in anything)
Thanks Nea and Kygon…yeah right around Great Pro Standing - it’s just the mystery of HOW to achieve Great Pro Standing that is getting me.
It’s some average of skills, but I don’t know which skills and what average.
Oh well, I’ll keep on chopping regardless…sitting at just over 4.6k LB wi’ll get it soon…it’s only a matter of time. I would just love to know what numbers to aim for so I have some idea.
