Rifles/Pistols: Laser compared to BLP?

I’ve looked through all the charts and can’t quite get a feel for any clear advantages/disadvatages of Lasers versus BLP weapons.

Can anyone shed a little light on this one?

Thanks,
gp

Seems blp has less ammo burn so you can take longer hunts on the same ammount of ammo as a laser, however the decay is greater so your decay bill will be higher…only real difference I noticed

In addittion to the ammo differance with it doing more damage for less ammo.
BLP can be amped to have a much higher max damage than with the amps available for lasers.
Blp is among the more faster reloading of weapons too, there is a higher amount of quicly reloading (shots per minute) blp guns than there are in laser.
So BLp is often better on the damage per second than laser.

You can’t get a feel for anything at all by looking at charts, reading through information or something like that - you have to try them if you want to get a feeling for the difference.

Actually BLP very good choice for begginers/mid-level player. With less ammo and good firing speed (usually blp much faster than laser) blp weapon will be good choice (atleast m4/freand delta and as-147, adj v1). But… there is no blp weapon that equal to the imk2.

IMO the problem is that there aren’t any really good blp skilling weapons. It seems to be a step many of us take after we have already put lots of time in skilling with lasers… Maybe MA wants it that way.

Improved Mk 2

And yeah, the whole “skilling lwt vs. skilling blp”

mod merc! :wise:

I am a big time BLP hunter I agree there are not really any good BLP skilling weapons but when I started going for BLP I tried just about everyone(back when you could find them at reasonable prices) to get a feel for what worked and how much decay was going to cost me. I never tried a BLP pistol until here recently when I decided to test a Maddox IV and dante (nice setup decay is a little less than desired but I love the punch :boxer: and skill gain)

To skill BLP you need a bit of a bank roll :twocents: just to pay for decay costs. If you accept it will take some money to earn the BLP skills they do seem to go up fairly fast. With the new (L) weapons out there MA may have a BLP that actually has decent decay, damage, and a skill bonus but we will just have to wait for that.

When I truelly made the leap from Laser to BLP. I bought an AS-129 with a cause amp (spend the extra for a dante you wont regret it) I hunted with this setup for a long time and the decay was neglidgible but the cause decayed to much. When my skills got higher I saved my peddies and got an adj stark and ML-35. That is a great duo especially amped with Dantes. All this time I still hunt with Laser I have my BLP set and laser set. Laser is used for lesser mobs and BLP larger it seems to work out just fine. My most recent weapons setup is ML-35 ME, Maddox IV, and MKVME. I bought the ML-35 ME :sniper: just for a test run and figured I would just sell it back at the same price well once you have shot one you are never going back lol it is my favorite weapon and I am surprised I still see them for sale. You definitely need to bump up your rifle, aim, marksmanship, and blp tech to use one effectively but in the long run it saves on armor and fap decay when you kill most mobs before the get to you.

There seem to be many BLP pistols :handgun: out there and since my Maddox IV test it seems fast reload pistols will help you gain more BLP skills. If you can find one that doesnt decay that bad and has decent refire that would be my choice for a skilling weapon. Nothing in BLP will compare to the efficiency you will find in Laser weapons but if you go into BLP knowing that they are quite fun and who knows maybe oneday MA will have a decent BLP impMK II counterpart.

Good luck Thanks for reading all my dribble  I tend to ramble on lol

Thanks to all for the good info. It’ll be a while, but I’ll enjoy it when I get there. I really like the idea of the longer range weapons, while oddly enough, I also really like melee.
