repair question

Hi all. Just started playing a few days ago. Started off with the sword and now have the 1x0 Axe

anyway, I find that I have to repair the Axe almost fully after about 10 mins of use. Is this normal? I only repaired the sword maybe 3 times in 3 days and this axe has cost me almost 15ped in repairs in the hour I have had it. im confused?

also quick side question. how do you get to other tps without walking there first? as soon as I get past the first outpost drones always hunt me down before I can get farther

thanks for any help!

Without knowing, I assume that your axe has higher damage than your sword.
Melee weapons dont use ammo and therefore they have a decay that will increase with the damage the weapon does. With melee weapon you pay for the damage you do by decay, with ranged weapons you pay for the damage you do with ammo.

And no there is no way to get to teleports in any other way than visiting them first to activate them. You could of course try to get one of the very few people ingame that is able to do it to open a wormhole for you, but that is NOT cheap

Ok just making sure I wasnt wasteing my time trying to walk there.

as for the Axe, its about twice the damage as the sword so it does kill faster, its just costing me about 10x as much I was wondering if this was just something for axes?

I realise its not easy to break even im not trying to, but to lose 10-50 ped an hour of hunting when im only 3 days into the game makes me not want to play anymore :frowning:

Check your damage range

When you rightclick a weapon in your inventory and look at its info, have a look at the damage range you have with the weapon. Especially take a look at the mimimum damage you can do. The higher % of the max damage that number is, the more effective you are with that weapon. The lower this number is, the more each damage inflicted will cost you.

If you can do 10-15 damage with a weapon that has 15 as a max and have 5 pec decay (just to make easy figures), That means that if you do the minimum damage you will do 2 damage per pec.
If you can do 12-14 damage with a weapon that has 14 as max damage and have 5 pec decay it means that if you do minimum damage, you get 2.8 damage per pec.
The damage per pec should be as high as possible, as higher damage per pec means its cheaper to kill a creature than it would be with lower damage per pec.

I would guess if you have only been playing for a few days that your skills are quite low and so I think you would find the tt weapons much more efficient to use to start with. Check the stats and compare minimum dmg and critical hit likelihood between the two weapons. You are probably getting very low dmg out of your 1x0 although the possible maximum dmg is quite high. This will inevitably be costing you a lot of peds and is not an efficient way to hunt
