I’m here to whinge about the Oilrig, and the blatant immaturity and disrespect that goes on there.
My first journey there was three months ago when I was a naive nooblet exploring Eudoria’s little secrets.
After a lot of walking, and getting killed three or four times by Atroxes, I made it to the rather disappointing looking “Oilrig” which looked more like a Tonka toy set than an Oilrig.
I asked simply “how do I get oil?”, then WHAMMO! “You have been killed by some retard with an overly stimulated ego for talking out of line at his oilrig.”
This turned me off going there right up until a few weeks ago when I thought it was time to return as I was now fully capable of at least putting up a decent fight.
Now, after observing for that time (a couple hours a day) I’ve noticed a disturbing trend…

A bunch of teenagers with too much time and money on their hands “guard” this oilrig from noobs, telling them that its “closed”…why? Because it makes them feel good about themselves? They think its funny?

Then, these “uber” teenagers essentially butter each others butts until they’re rubbed raw and congratulate each other…what, kicking someones arse who has been playing the game for a week is considered satisfying and “cool”? Reminds me of school yard bullying…the bigger kids picking on the weaker ones just because they can. Kinda cowardly, no?
On occassion these greedy little “ubers” lash out at each other and we have a little “war”.
This next point infuriates me the most…
Sometimes these kids get bored and “allow” noobs (who are too scared to approach the Oilrig by the way and are standing to the sides) to approach the rig telling them reassuringly that the rig is now “open”.
Of course they’re then expected to give praise, worship these egomaniacal teenagers and squabble for their scraps.
Unless of course they get bored and decide to kill all these noobs, again just for the fun of it.
Yes, I know its pvp, thats no excuse to be an arsehole.

PS. for the record, I LOVE this game…the ONLY things I hate is RT killers and these Oilrig killing lackwits.
