There are a few people right now (unfortunately, due to forum rules, we cannot NAME AND SHAME…) who are dragging people out of buildings by using creature pills to get them to hop into vehicles and take them to space and loot them.
Ask around in-game, and you can quickly figure out who, but I’ve heard multiple reports about this person trying to grab “afk” people using macro into space. Most recently, I heard of a substantial loot from someone who came out of the Cyrene Mecha instance, presumably left their avatar AFK after that with their interact macro going, and was dragged from inside a building to out using a creature control pill so they would be “targeted and followed,” then into a vehicle, and looted in space.
Why do I say this? Because many people will be hunting in merry mayhem in instances, and after 5 hours, the instance runs out, or in the case of FFA, it is 1 hour. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this individual snooping around Fort Ithaca, Zeus, and Nymphtown. You are vulnerable if you come out of an instance, even standing in a building.
So, take heed of this public service announcement and remain vigilant. MindArk doesn’t seem to think that grabbing people unexpectedly into space is against the terms of use, and since they probably won’t take action, at least you should be aware.
F.W.I.W. - This has not happened to me, though they did try, and they’ve tried on several people I know.
Can confirm they are sitting outside of the instance looking for people to be afk.
Easy fix for this is to make the whole game a pvp zone, remove creature control capsules, or allow people to remove themselves from guest lists of ships, OR a pop up asking are you sure you would like to join this vehicle guest list.
this happened to me 5 times with 2 different idiots, all 5 times i just watch what they tried, so was all on calypso from fort ithaca, they took me in their quad dropped me off into pvp 3 and like i switch to a bigger dps gun killed em 2 times, they left me and later came back with 2 avatars, my “macro” killed them again and they came back again with 3 avatars like if u gonna do this maybe skill up ur avatars to at least be able to use bigger dps weapon instead of kept getting rekt by just macros…i should probably record and stream this next time for entertainment, oh i had no loot on me cuz i heard ppl were doing this so i just left my avatar right outside the tp for their convinences
to add to this, like u dropped me off in a quad i killed u with a gun…how do u not know iam not afk and kept trying this…
this for some reason does not work, i am in ingonito mode for like last 6 years and invisible, i was present like watching them as they kept landing their quad on me and adding me to their guest list

Pretty cut and dry, so it’s just TOS breaking VS. TOS breaking going unpunished. If anyone has proof of any Mindark Officials or support saying the use of macros or bots is allowed, please let me know because I would do some hunting if that’s the case. Otherwise I don’t have the time to hunt and cycle enough for it to make sense to me. The only case I’ve seen of someone being approved of using a macro was where someone had a disability and they were approved to be an exception to the macroing rule.
Obviously many people are using macros or botting and have been doing it for years without consequence, but to my knowledge this is still breaking TOS. So if they take the same approach they’ve taken to this issue, nothing is going to be done about the pirating.[/SIZE]
phrasing matters, “is macroing or botting allowed?” now ask again with is interacting allowed while i am monitoring? and get back to us with that answer

If you ask them if you can use a macro to press the interact key while you’re watching the game and they say it’s allowed, then that would work. I’m open to any evidence that using a macro or botting without having a special exception made for you is allowed though. The phrasing has to explicitly include that you’re using an automated system to press keys for it to qualify.[/SIZE]
I bet its the same guy who tried to get me in his quad while i was hunting spina soldiers old. I dont argue that using macro is ok but in my opinion abducting those people to pvp and looting them is worse. Rules should be enforced by MA not some vigilante who is pretty much stealing from macro users. We should have choice do we want to be added to guest list.
if you want to manually click the mouse a billion times and put those 50 million durablity claim to the test all the more power to you. I personally have zero interest to fight my insurance and see if i can get this self inflicted carpal tunnel claim to go through. i will keep interacting while monitoring my avatar and mess with these quality control tester until MA removes interact, dont want us to interact make a better game that isnt based on please kill 200k pts of mobs so we ruin ur tt return and give u some tokens so u can fight against the other 50 ppl for the 5 items we put in those npc every other month.
I am not here to debate the merits of using macros. I only want to make sure people know that there are people out there actively trying to ruin your fucking day. and you need to be careful.
maybe there is a disagreement on definitions here, my term of macro is hotkeying interact to my mouse and having it click for me while i monitor it, if that isnt allowed than MA reads all these threads, please state that and i’ll stop and quit this game today.
I don’t mess with lootable pvp, but if it’s like Calypso on the other planets and needs the toxic shot to survive entry, a simple solution is get it burned off by someone killing you in pvp, then don’t redo it until you intentionally enter lootable pvp zone - then a waste of time and energy by the pirate doing the dragging (again, planetside at least).

I think it’s terrible for the game and economy, but at least there’s some form of interaction that’s been made with support affirming specifics. Not sure why this response has never been given to me as I have asked support multiple times in various ways about if macroing or botting is allowed. Using driver software to press the interact key is macroing btw.
