I popped this over at EF about a week ago, but forgot to share it here. It’s gotten some decent feedback from the community over at EF, and was cross posted by SoftHart over to the EU Facebook community as well. It’s a humorous piece about the common personality types you might see as you journey through EU.
The Know it All “Well in my 8 years of experience I can tell you that you are doing it all wrong. It goes like this…”
http://www.laudanumonline.com/drupal/sites/default/files/resize/pageimages/knowitall-150x150.pngThe Know it All knows it all, and isn’t shy about letting you know that they do, and you don’t! Well suited to tasks like writing a wiki, the Know it All often instead chooses to spend their hours working to alienate others with their constant nagging. They not only know how you should play the game, but they know how the game should be developed, they know how the game should be funded, they know how many spawns should go where, they know what color pants goes best with a Combibo skin Master Coat. Don’t believe me? Well, trust me. They know it all!
The Know it All gets along best with The Newbie, if their conversations are shorter than 5 minutes. Anything more than that and the Know it All and the Newbie become oppositional forces. The Know it All and the Attention Whore are natural enemies.
In game this personality can often be seen nearby the Cop, the Cop asking others to respect the experience of the Know it All, and the Know it All telling others what they’re doing wrong, whether asked or not. The Know it All does not get along with The Hero, since the Know it All thinks they are the Hero, and the Hero is just plain ignorant.
Will take that into consideration. :silly2: I’m sure I left out alot of personalities. Part of the issue was finding or making pictures that were funny and not-too-overbearing. Once I get a few more together I may add a part 2 to this list.
You may want to change your background and/or the font size - the text is hard to read (contrast too low).
Or you adjust the opacity of the text background a bit - ~50% opacity is very translucent - too much to have it in front of a dark/contrasty page background.
I’d offer to do it for you, but you’ll decline ayway…
I’ll take that into consideration next time I do a theme update. Ive got a few projects with the site currently in the works that will require tweaking of the theme. Thanks for the feedback.
