As we all know there’s a lot of interaction between the players of PE, one of the parts I like the most about PE
Yesterday I saw some people tap-dansing in sync and it made me laugh
But it also made me think why we cannot dance TOGETHER, you know like some old time rock’n roll dancing, a tango, a slow, and so on…
Also we can’t shake hands or give a hug or a kiss or … you know what i mean ( no, not that, you perverted people ! )
It would be nice to see some interaction between avatars as well, no?
I also would like to see some options in cooperative play.
Perhaps a weapon that can only be used by two people? Like some huge mega cannon like in the power rangers lol.
Trapping devices like for example a net which would require two people, or maybe more?
A drilling tower which needs two people(or more) to setup and operate, which would mean more pulls, which would mean Team Mining options like we have with hunting.
With this we could also have a new skill : Teamwork !
I thought we dances just lovely till ole girl fell out and we had to revive her with mouth to mouth lol…
I have a few peeps i would like to kiss..and hug …woudl also like to see a butt kick add for the noob that aggrivates.. or a slap for the jerk who wont quit trying to chat screen you lol…
Hunting wise …how bout a 2 person morter or belt driven gun used by two peeps…kill mass herds at once…
totally agree mining would be more fun with two. Knows a few ways to team mine but no sharing of finds like in team hunt so we just split when done. One does enmatter other does ore, but would love to see a rig or excavator for two peeps or more…so you could have a whole mining operation if you wanted
The problem with avatar/avatar interaction like handshaking is collision checking, especially with the netimmerse engine (now GameBryo), MA already have trouble with collision checking because of the 3D engine used, like when you go up against a wall you get stuck and have to move away from the wall to continue, same with mobs, which is being “exploited”.
It requires alot of extra programming MA side because the 3D engine cant handle it by itself, MA has to make objects “walkthroughable”, like you can run through most trees and stones, in the space domes it’s even more difficult because there has to be walls, those walls are being “exploited” by trapping mobs.
Many 3D engines has those flaws, im a betatester for a new 3D engine (not a game, the engine itself) and it has exactly the same problem, getting stuck at walls, other engines like Doom and quake engines handle it well though.
Suma sumarum, without a suitable 3D engine, interaction is gonna be very difficult to make and/or require alot of complicated programming which could cause if not alot of lag then alot of “out of sync” problems.
I think MA has plans for co-op stuff in space like space battles where you have to fight robots in-flight where you have 3 turrets and stuff. Even Vehicles can have these same sort of co-op activities. One person driving while others operating a canon.
Indeed MB, I was already afraid of those drawbacks.
Collision detection, and especially in such a giant environment, isn’t easy to program. I do have some experience in BlitzBasic and C++, so I know it would be possible to program it, but I’m sure MA has other concerns at the moment.
If it were to be possible we would be another step closer to being a true virtual universe
It would really add another dimension to the whole gameplay!
Apart from the dancin’ and huggin’, I really hope that MA implements more options for teamwork and a teamwork skill
