5 easy steps to trapping a spider…
Goto Port Atlantis, Argus, Fort Troy or any other place where you can find a large group of orange suited newbies. You will need atleast 20 for this to work effectively & to allow for headless chickens.
Take them to the nearest location of spiders. This is where Fort Troy is preferable due to its close (ish) location to spiders (West). making sure they stay away from any other type of mob that may fancy a quick snack.
Line your newbies up 6 a breast and atleast 3/4 deep in a cresent formation. Training is imperitive here as you will get the odd unruly orange suit that will wander off in a random location. It maybe wise to recruit a few veterans in orange to keep order in the ranks.
4 Position yourself a good distance from the crowd, but still within firing range. Walk forward in tandom with the group until the spider is trapped.
Idea stolen from the Spider hunt recently organised by VF.

a litle harsh
No, not a litle harsh…ALOT harsh…gotta go draggin up the past and flamin peeps/socs AGAIN!!! hopefully this time its a PERM ban… :wise:
Trapping at one time used to be up in the air with PE; was always bug, game exploit or feature they did not take an official stand until.
After serval VU’s latter PE decision on it was an exploit and ruined the game.
Basically if you can’t take hits from it, then your not skilled enough to hunt that mob.
Yeah that means you need to work to get skills to hunt that mob, and one of the things that make skill matter in PE.
So trapping ruins the game for so many players, and it is an exploit that PE takes very seriously that they have been know to lock peoples account. This post can not only get your account possibley locked but the person giving you the advice on the bug locked.
Decoys do work , but you need uber uber skills to use them, I don’t have them.
Only person I see hunt them with decoys and this was going back many vu’s to where no one could tank them at the time, was Ah lady OH of desert rangers.
Forgot what her decoy skill was, over 5k maybe more. See spiders are meant to be hard mobs to kill because they give out big rewards. They are meant to be killed by only the elite of PE the most skilled of PE. They are not meant to be killed by an noob or person that maybe played for 1 or 2 years with under xyz Health points.

Find a solid object to trap it behind, while you’re safe from it, and it can’t touch you, you’ll get the message: “This target is trapped and cannot be damaged in this condition”
There you go, it’s trapped! That’s what you asked for right? ![]()
Whats the point of trapping now, when you cant damage trapped mobs?

You can “trap” mobs so that you can kill them. It just depends how you “trap” them.
“Soft trapping” works well sometimes and imo isn’t so unethical: When hunting ambus in SW of Argus, I use snarksnots to slow down occacional ambu provider, which I can’t handle for 100%. Tagging with ARR8KM and walking backwards and strafing so snarksnot gets between me and ambu slowing it down for extra 3-5 shots, until it gets to hit me.
I dont understand why people get so irrate when people mention trapping.
OMFG! TRAPPING!!! Lock the fag up so we can lynch him! EULA breaker!
C’mon people… don’t yall remember “the good ol’ days” with the sweat farms around PA and elsewhere?

Zychion was famous for being able to trap cornundos for sweating. Of course you had to work at it for hours to get a 100 sweat that was worth a ped. ![]()
