I think that in my case, the whiskey decay would depend on order of usage, if I drink the pint of whiskey first, then the shot would last a whole lot longer…it could also depend upon if they both contain the same whiskey. A shot glass of Jack (no offence Faustian 
) would last a whole lot longer than a pint of single malt whiskey
I haven’t found much difference on the hangovers if I use shot glasses and a pint glass if I drink the same amount tho
(Sorry for the topic drift but I couldn’t help myself, that analogy started to do something to my brain)
Also I use my crafted D-1 but that only figures since Im a DIY man… If you don’t like tho color, go hunt Igni for a while and loot an outbacko. I don’t know what drops the m2201 tho maybe someone who knows can say.
I use jester and mph since their colors - they are easily spotted in inventory (especially when having looted carbines and handguns there).
I still got outbacko and bunch of m2201 in my storage though.

i always though that the diference between them could never pay the diference in the current market values. But never guessed that d1 was actually better
