Well, “rare rewards based on decay”, it seems to me they repalced the next 2 Mayhems by this event, but I can be wrong.

If you look closely at the creature trading cards in your inventory zoom in the new horizon pass codex it says battle pass on the trading card so this could be the start of the battle pass system Mindark are introducing just noticed.
Needs some improvements with rewards in the next battle pass maybe one or 2 keys to open the unreal box.
