It took me three months to figure out how to change my resolution in EU so feel like I am kind of out of the loop.
My nephew is about to get a new computer and the budget is around €1000. I have been looking at this specific model for two reasons mainly: It doesn’t have a brand so not paying for a logo and AMD instead of Intel has (historically at least) been most bang for the buck.
Page is in Swedish but I am guessing that whatever part of the world you are from you’ll understand that “Specifikationer” means specs.
Kid is 13 and as of today he spends most time playing Fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft and Elder Scrolls. I was hoping to get a PC that would last at least a couple of years and be able to play newer games as well.
Is this something reasonable? Any suggestions on options? I would rather have a pre built than building myself since it has been so long since I did that so I’d probably end up fucking everything up as I usually do.
the GPU i would switch to either an AMD or the latest gen as the 4060 is already one generation old (current gen is 5xxx). that being said, for the titles you mentionned a 4060 is plenty powerful
i highly recommend not going 4k. a nice 1080p or 1440p monitor will make that system last years whereas 4k needs tons and tons of power.
Honestly don’t have anything to add, But for like the 2nd time ever, doing a pre-built might be a solid idea with so many companies trying to get rid of stock.
I bought an Alienware gaming laptop a year ago for £1150 when it was discounted by Dell. When I priced a desktop it usually came to more when you factored in a decent keyboard, sound and monitor. Personally I find a laptop more convenient for space saving, can obviously travel with it easier and they probably have better resale value if you are the type to switch hardware often.
