Need advice

Been playing for 4 days now and have sank $30 into the game and I am getting nowhere. I can’t even break “even” in the game. Right now im hunting, had no luck at all with mining so i went back to hunting again.

Laser Weaponry Technology - 438
Aim - 78
Handgun - 199
Inflict Damage Range - 98
Rifle - 280

I have a pull set of Pixie, an Opalo, AMP103, Shreik Covert handgun.

Does anyone have any advice on the following things?

1: Aiming. Whats the best way to do it, point and click on the creature itself, or drag the mouse over the crosshairs so the healthbar detaches from the creature and just click on that?

2: Places to hunt. Right now i get lots of “This creature didnt have loot” more than half of the creatures which MA of course worded around to make it sound like only some of the creatures didnt have loot, nice bit of false advertising to get the shooters interested in a game who’s looting is almost non existant. Does anyone have good “n00bish friendly” places to hunt on Calypso where the loot will at least let me break even? The cash i have already spent in the game just for ammo alone would have gotten me a months play in another MMORPG. Right now im running around in SE Atlantis and east of Pheonix, but the loot is poor and i can’t even break even as most of the creatures don’t carry anything.

Hoi!

You need to be really patient. Just go on killing, and maybe u can try some trading too to minimalize your loss. :wise:

This game is like this, u have to accept.

Don’t spend it unless you willing to lose it, all.

  1. Do you miss a lot? Expect better loot/used ammo -ratio as your skills increase. Rifle 280 is not yet that much.
  2. Don’t stay too long in an area that seems to give little or no loot, change.
  3. Luck is a factor always.

Breaking even is not really a minimum target in hunting imo, I see it as close to ultimate goal. If then you are lucky you may get some real good loots some time, so some hunting trips will bring you profit.

I aim as I have always been doing in FPS, point and click creature in first-person. When aiming skills are too low you will miss anyway whichever method you use.

You might like to bolt A101 to Opale instead of A103, A101 having no extra ammo burn and low decay = more cost effective. Stick to young Daikibas and Exarosaur until your skills get better. (I don’t know about that pistol, I use rifles extensively.)

To me low-level mobs near Fort Troy have given enough small loot that I don’t loose that much. Sometimes it seems better NW, sometimes SE, it varies. Snables near Camp Phoenix have been friendly sometimes. Don’t count on that though, what works today, most likely don’t work tomorrow.

Thanks all  I’ll get the 101 and sell off that 103…and i’ll head over to Troy once this defrag is finished
