My HP sux! What would you do?

been playing 5 years (about 2.5 very actively overall), and I’m only at 149 HP…

lvl 54/55 Laser hit/dmg
lvl 37 paramedic
lvl 25 evade
(those are really the only professions I care about)

in melee…

lvl 20 Brawler hit, 30 Brawler dmg
lvl 18 Swordsman hit, 28 Swordsman dmg
lvl 12 One Handed Clubber hit, 24 One Handed Clubber dmg

in mining, everything is lvl 3 or lower…

I kind of think the most obvious solution is to switch from hunting with Laser carbines, to mining and/or melee hunting for a while, but I am really not interested in doing either… but I DO want more HP!..

what would you do if you were in my shoes?

For those who are experienced in mining, any and all advice is welcome, I have no clue what I’m doing whenever I have gone mining…
For those experienced using melee, pairing equipment with mission mobs that drop some markup loot is ideal for me! I’d like to kill as many birds with 1 stone as I can, don’t want to throw my peds away on professions I’m not even interested in skilling!..

I think I have Finder 102 and TT Extractor…
& for melee, I have access to Power Claw ME & Queen’s Scepter

my budget (when I’m active) is generally around 1K-2K/month (sometimes lower/higher)

I kind of know what I need to do, pretty much looking for suggestions for how to go about it!

questions? advice? :dunno:

man i got my health from some quests (courage, athl+melee combat)

thing is not sure if some worth atm

also try to hunt some really aggressive mobs will get u to 40-50 evader (u don’t need more then that imo)

Concentrate on laser hg/rifle until you get Commando.

check jdegre optimizer page and buy some skills. It is not as expensive as you might think.

I assume by your post that chipping isn’t an option?

Either way, check jdegre’s chipping optimizer and see what skills would give you the most HP per skill. Chances are there’s something you can do, such as spacepilot or treasure hunting, that’ll give a lot of HP for not that many skills.

How big a priority is HP over other progress? Certain Iron Missions will give you skills that’ll boost HP (such as Athletics, Stamina) but you’ll have to choose those options over progress in another field then.

Apart of mining and melee, some people skill Captain in space.
Although you are long way to get Commando, I would recommend getting it before melee skilling (that’s my plan), so you would gain HP from both at the same time.
Also at our noobish levels in mining there are few easy HP points to get. But I understand you - it’s boring for me too

Fastest: Triple drop ore/enmatter/treasure on Arkadia. (start using amps to speed up the process as you skill into them. I’m not sure how sib on amps work but you should be pretty safe with 5lvls over recommended (maybe you can use them as soon as you are in recomended but I’m not sure and tend to play on the side of caution))

Cheapest: Borrow a privateer/mothership and take a crew of repairers out trolling pirates. (space mobs work too, but not nearly as fast as pirates)

Most entertaining/unique experience: Hunt space mobs for a few weeks either with quad or warpship.

Most practical: Get the highest UL blades you are maxed on and grind till you can get higher and repeat.

At your level, I would probably alternate triple drop mining on arkadia mixed with melee skilling on low lvl iron missions there. You should see a significant boost in hp fairly quickly till it slows down again for you.

<------ 170hp and 54 is my highest profession

Agreed, mining ore/enm/treasure on Ark is significant. After it was introduced, I went up a HP in less than a week, and I’m over 180hp. Try a day of mining and see what happens :).

Get commando  Just keep working your hit/dmg skills. Although chipping in a few HP gain skills that are low would certainly work. I’m at 220 HP at level 72 hit, but I also have high mining skills along with the hunting skills, so my general skills have gone up a lot quicker.

Try doing

Allo/Esto and Feffoid Iron missions for Athletics
Neconu and Warrior Iron missions + Atrox and Feffoid Bronce for Courage
Molisk and Longu Iron missions for Dexterity

always choose the Stamina tokens when possible .

Then new Robot Iron missions lets you chooose between ALOT of different skills just check which reward would give most HP with Jdegre’s chipping optimizer .

continue grinding and be happy you have autofire…

aye space mobs will sure be the fastest option and the most risky one

169 hp here with lvl 50 top skill

Kreltin mission take melee combat every time will give you 10 or 12 I believe.

This is why I made the thread, feel like I am behind where I should be, and it looks like I’m right about that…

From what I’ve heard from friends who mine, treasure mining isn’t worth it…

I’m the furthest thing from an expert when it comes to mining, so I’m a little skeptical about jumping into that (though I’m not opposed to giving it a try)…

Are there decent loots available in that area to someone like me who is only lvl 3 in mining professions?
Or would that be something that would be more like a gamble, and purely for the HP in my case?

I prefer not to chip when there’s some reasonable alternative, but I wouldn’t rule out chipping a little bit…

I don’t plan to gain all the HP I want just by chipping though!

don’t do chips, you can’t eat just one. Just ask cyrex

well they never said treasure mining on ark is profitable, but mining will give you pretty decent increase in hp especially if you are at low levels.

so if you want to balance hp gain and TT return, mining(probably not treasure), spacecraft pilot(bit risky), iron missions, melee skilling. i would say in that order

Yes, I did it only to test out the new mining system, and when I realized what I was getting in return (HP gains), I stuck to it. I haven’t been to ark in a while, so I don’t know what the market is for materials there, but at the time I was doing it, it was new and there was a demand for some of the loot I was getting.

I’d recommend trying it for a day, try a couple runs and see if it’s a reasonable increase compared to the cost spent. The change in mining may be a positive result in these regards. . I would imagine at your level the increase will be significant. Never know unless you try.

Think the main issue is in that phrase.

Ores and enmatters gave me a lot of HP and more recently the treasures at Arkadia. Since I had zero skill on treasure the level up went quite fast and also the HP.

As others said, focus on getting commando (I heard that is the best skill to give HP) or go mining anything for a while. Ofc that using amps on mining whill make you skill faster and also gain HP faster.

Good luck Genx!

I just cant find the logic in commando first, could someone please explain it better for me?

Scans taken last week before I chipped in the little bit needed to max the Dragons Breath I got.

Chipping into 200hp, Chipping Commando with BLP, Chipping Commando with Laser

https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/gallery/files/2/6/1/7/4/commando_laser.jpg

Cost of chipping up to 200hp: 16k ped
Advantages of chipping to 200hp: Huge difference in mob selection and survivability as well as opening up more eco armor choices.

Cost of chipping up to Commando with BLP: 23k ped
Advantages of chipping Commando with BLP: 8 HP gain, 1 (one?!?!?!?) damage pro level gain, ability to skill hp faster

Cost of chipping up to Commando with Laser: 28k ped
Advantages of chipping Commando with Laser: 8HP gain, 6 damage pro level gains, ability to skill hp faster

Conclusion: Jumping to 200hp would put me in an entirely new league of hunting even with the same weapons, armor, gear, etc… that I use now.
Jumping to Commando costs significantly more, but really doesn’t allow for any better weapons ( L or otherwise).

The bulk of skills (the ones i need more than 50tt in) needed for me to jump to 200 are,

Courage
Coolness
Athletics
Melee Combat
Dexterity
Combat Sense
Drilling

I am not sure about the math, but am guessing the reason that Space and Treasure related skills don’t show higher is because the Markup of them makes them cost prohibitive to chip in, but would still be good for natural gains.

All of this adds up to the reason I chose to buy the Dragons Breath and intend to grind with it for the next year or so. (melee will also force me down a few levels into mobs that are probably wiser for me to hunt than I have been able to with ranged. Lower level mobs = more skills per ped spent)(though I will probably end up just hunting the high hp/lvl mobs that dont hit hard, but who knows  )

Are there any holes in my logic for someone cycling 1-2k ped a day max on a limited budget?

All depends on your playstyle and goals.
For ‘monoskillers’ like me, getting commando first before switching to other weapons is the best option.
Doing so I limit myself to slightly lower HP and less varied playstyle while improving future (post Commando) HP gains.

Cost of chipping up to 200hp: 16k ped

In contrast, for me prices would be polarized:

  • chipping from roughly same HP as yours (169.39) to 200 would cost me 13,129 PED (Optimizer)
  • Hit from lvl 64.86 to 70 would cost 8,851 PED and would increase 1.5 HP

We have equal HP but quite different Hit lvl. Multiskilling vs monoskilling.
