I wrote a database front-end that can be easily used to make a mob/loot database. Do you think its worth doing? Its complete standalone program don’t even touches the game files so i hope MA won’t have anything against but a have to ask before relase. I have written a suport case already waiting for their answer.

This information is already available from different websites, so I don’t see how it wouldn’t be allowed as a standalone program…?
Looks great! Thumbs up! :cowboy:
Edit:
Be sure to get the Chirpy underloot in there:

Please upload pics to our gallery, having them spread around on the internet on various free pic hosts just renders red-X’s later on, thanks.

So far i have only database engine and no data
It uses Excel file as a datasource and the data has to be filled. So my idea is to have a website with current version of the datafile that would be updated and the database engine.
Sory about the pic i did’n know i can use gallery to upload pics.
It would be easier to have listboxes for locations and drops. And don’t use Excel to store data in
That’s what Access ptooooeeeeeeeeeie is for.
A good idea, but I would use Access for this type of thing, I created a similar thing for my Retro game collection.
From a personal point of view this would be great for us noobs ![]()
Despite the existence of many fancy db applications, I most often find myself using notepad pasted copy of EF mob chart. Data is inaccurate but accurate enough to give me general feel if i’m capable to take down certain mob or not. I also like the game, so I dont mind to learn by dying every now and then.
Every db application online atm is plagued with general usability issues or just bad infodesign in resembling data for quick reference.
There’s still many ppl out there, who think ctrl+f aint enough so please, keep up the good work ![]()
I’m not so sure I would use it, but it looks like a good idea.
I just had a brain fart…
The main idea behind the database is to know what mob to go after with depending on your equipment, right?. Especially for us n00bs, who run around killing (or trying to
) eveything in sight. For the more experiencd players who can take down almost anything this does not apply.
But here comes the idea…
There could be some sort of indicator ingame that tells you the chance of sucess against the mob you have in your sights. Maybe a sweet female voice (male voice for the girls) that says “Don’t even think about it!” when you are looking at an Atrox Provider through your scope…
…nevermind, silly idea.
Cheers
I have almost no expirence with Access but since there is a ODBC driver for it it should be much the same like excel files, i would try to switch to Acces then. ![]()
