Mabye there is a thread about this already but i couldnt find it. ![]()
Im wondering if there is a conection between the weapon you use and the loot you get. Weapons with high decay gives better loots?
Would be nice to hear your opinion on this ![]()

I am sure this is not the case. Ppl loot shadow parts in the past with low level guns. If it is TT-value of loot you are thinking about, I think it is linked to the HP of the mob.

BAHQ did a scientific experiement in dome4 once. We all used high decay armor and weapons to see if we looted better.
Well, after 13 globals and 3 hofs (and the dudes in angel hunting next to us not getting as much but they probably profited) we decided that there may be a correlation between decay donations to MA and loot. Even though you still lose in the end based on repairs we still had lots of flashing lights and poxy little EWE tt guns.
So feel free to wear Eon and use crafted FAPs, weapons and armor AND always use high decay amps. Best to use FAP dlx.
Just for reference the team name was ‘BAHQ decay party’.
Ohh we were being silly so dont take this as something that the loot ssytem is based on. It may have been pure chance on those globals.
I think no.
When I evaluate whether to hunt at specific location or try somewhere else, I use nothing but three variables:
For example 1 ped, 5 iron stones and some pecs seems to be young argo’s “normal set”. Same as 2 peds + some pecs on atrox young. And that would be normal basic loot level with low spread. Breaking even most likely if personal drive is above average. If I seem to make lousy damage and many misses, I shoot some smaller mobs with D1.
When I am well with PED:s, I prefer any basic loot level with high spread; prepared for some losses but still a change for nice surprises.
That’s not even a theory, but I have to stick on something ![]()
i do belive there have been a little truth in it there used to be sorta like a buildup where a small portion of your ammo spend and decay was saved up like a bonus so that if u just pressed on you would end up getting least a global this could just be imagination but even if it was so it sure isnt anymore now u can go hunt for 1200peds in a small area and not even get a mini of 10peds or well i can ![]()
I did a testhunt on argos at twin p first round i used axes 1x0 terible bad loots almost nothing just some peds.
Than i changed to axe 2x0 and valor now it started to give good loots
Got over 80 peds +gsi and 45 ironstones on 1 axe 2x0 and about 30 ped decay on valor. So mabye it have to do a little depending on what you use for a weapon
There could be more than one factor deciding if u get a global/hof or not.
1: Decay could build up some kind of reward. Like those 50ish globals
2: Luck/skill/deposits give u the larger once
3: Area?
I dont think its just one factor like decay. If it was decay, guys using Imp mk2 or mod merc wouldnt get shit.
Probably been posted already in the past, but I’ll add my 2pec’s.
Personally, I believe loot is:
[ul]
[li]Decided as the mob spawns, and may/may not grow in size depending on how long the mob stays alive.[/li][li]Dependant on how popular that mob is for looting in the current area. As more of that mob are killed, the average loot goes down.[/li][/ul]
This would comply with the general rule of thumb that the larger mobs give better loot - harder to kill, fewer people have the ability to kill them so they live longer, more stay alive longer so the average loot goes up.

An interesting idea. My personal belief is that loot obtained is based on two things:
[ul]
[li]The average damage per shot dealt to the mob[/li][li]The skill levels that the avatar has got. [/li][/ul]
Sort of a list of requirements that the player has to meet in order to take the full loot that the mob could potentially offer.
This would also comply with the general rule of thumb that the higher skilled you are, the more loot you are likely to take. Think of it as an incentive to carry on playing ![]()
HOWEVER…
Using high-decay weapons may yield other results. But I’ll post my theory on that later. I’ve gotta get back to work
well I would say it might, when I used freanD Delta+cause and ml35+dante and boar/tbird I got WAY more globals than I do now with Rascal+5a adj hero, adj 2227, VME etc.

Nice one! I’m using some similar logic. People create dozens of new (or not-so-new) loot theories every week, but for me personally it’s been proven that the loot is random, but at the same time its randomness has some irregularities, some sort of waves for instance. Many speculations about these waves could be expressed, but the most interesing thing is (as you pointed out) that hunting the same mob over and over again you would be able to notice, which particular structure of the loot (distribution of peds, pecs, items) belongs to which part or the wave (top or bottom) or, in different words, which spead bucket it belongs to.
For instance, for argos I found 6 distinguished loot types (distribution buckets):
Types 5 and 6 are totally irregular - you can get them after 20 no-looters or during some quite decent looting period.
If type 1 goes one after another (together with nolooters), it’s a bottom of the wave, and I don’t expect any decent loot in next 10-20 min.
Types 2-3 going often (every 3-4th loot) mean it’s closer to the top of the wave and with quite high probability you would break even or get close to it within 10 axe (1 hour) run.
Type 4 going one after another would usually mean it will stay high for some time (top of the wave).
I didn’t find any correlation between weapons I use or distrubution of items (e.g. iron stones) and the overall loot picture. I used to think that getting 30 iron stones per 10-axe hunt is a kinda ‘normal’ level, but then I proved it being wrong. Some good runs gave 15stones, and some worst one had 40 stones.
I’m not pretending of finding any rule here (I know exactly that it works maybe in 75% of time the best), but this logic when estimating the loot seems quite useful to me.
