When I was hunting yesterday, I got assigned the fun task of killing 500 low level mobs.
Not wanting to waste cells, used my trusty hunka-junk 1 PED rifle to pewpew the mobs away with a few shots per mob.
After doing this important task of pressing F numerous time for an hour, I got annoyed and equiped my fancy-dancy 90 PED rifle to PEWPEW the mobs away with one shot each.
Now -
Using pewpew, I saw skill gains in the terminal almost every shot.
Using PEWPEW, I rarely saw skill increases.
Both rifles are maxed out.
My question is - was this placebo and I was in fact getting the same skill results, or do we get more skills by firing more often?
…Writing this I realize I might be getting to the conclusion myself since that’s how practice works irl.
But if anyone could confirm this, I could simply refrain from one-shot’ing mobs in the future when trying to level up.
With bigger riffle you spend more ped so skill gains should be bigger with rifle. Frequency of getting skills should be about the same, but numbers are bigger with bigger riffle.
That could definitely be the case. I only shot a few hundred mobs in total and positively did not cycle 10k PED ammo.
Now that I think about it, it could also be that I gained other skills related to being attacked by the mobs as opposed to only getting rifle skills when one-shot’ing them.
I know it sounds harsh but thats the reality of EU these days. I said 10k just as a reference. 100k kills on each mob should give good data but you know what i mean.
