PE is one big casino dressed up to try and not look like one
Many casinos in Vegas offer free accomodation, sometimes free drinks at the bar, etc. PE offers a free method too: sweating/fruit & dung collecting/trading
As was said, cash is disguised as PED rather than chips
Large winnings are advertised in your face
In casinos you have blackjack, roulette, etc. In PE you have hunting, crafting, mining
And so on and so on…
Kalashi said there’s a system. Just like it was mention about one armed bandits. Yes the owner can open the back door and adjust the payout percentage, just like MA can adjust the loot percentage
The way it differs tho, is that in Vegas, most winnings are random (almost no skill involved let’s face it) altho many hard time gamblers will try and find that elusive “method”. They almost always fail
In PE, because it’s a computer program, there really are methods. You just need to figure out how the programmers would implement something, and go from there. These wont make you a millionairre, but they will give you profit time and again. Those who know them keep them close to their chest, but it consists of several different components of the game
But as to your original question: within a week of playing, both ulti and myself agreed that it was exactly that - an online casino disguised as something else

MA must make profit. I donot think they have made PE just for fun. Its their business and have to pay the developers, the server park and other equipment, Marcos time to view the different forums, … btw I have visited www.ndl.com a few days ago. There u can get a felling how much one single developing system is worth. Unfortnunately PE is not mentioned there.
I really hope MA makes good profit. In this case we all can be sure that PE will stay for a long long time on the market. If u compare PE with an online casiono then u are right in some special cases but hey - many successful stories in RL needs a great piece of luck.

i tend to see PE as an investment tho, and im looking at months, or even years of investing
FireW0lf is right PE is a casino in disguise but as for there being a system to make money in PE and not in a casino well that I have to somewhat disagree with that. In a casino the slot machines, roulette tables and craps tables all pure luck no matter what anyone says the same as hunting in PE and if u think u have a system to make money hunting in PE ur kidding urself. Now blackjack and other card games even in a casino the requirement of luck is still there but there r techniques u can use to improve ur chances and in PE u have mining and to a lesser amount crafting u learn areas and spawn rates for ores and enmatters and with a little luck(that someone else hasn’t got to it before u) then u can make some money, crafting u do everything u can to get ur COS up and u can get closer to 100%ROI but the hofs on crafting r still just luck.
Well that is my opinion anyway.
Think of it like malfunctioning rigged dice, it depends on if you programmed them right, yet they occasionaly malfunction which is unavoidable no matter how much programming is involved…
Even if you buy that sweaty new stack of sweat, you never know, there might suddenly happen something that effects the selling price of sweat…
PE is not gambling… Hunting, Mining, Crafting is all gambling. I dont know of any gun in real life that will hit at 130m miss at 1m. I also dont know of any guns blowing one guys head of a point blank range and not anothers (meaning damage varies per hit even though its same ammo, gun, situation). So unless your trading, its a gamble :wise:
I think PE is a form of gambling, however it is the only MMORPG that lets you get back money what you put in or the potential to get money back. I agree with the beast if you only spending small amounts of money then too lose it is no big deal as long as your having fun. Unless you really know how to make money in this game, breaking even should be considered lucky how many other games will pay you to play.
The only problem seems to be addiction ppl run out of PED and deposit more, sometimes not even their own money (kids i imagine mostly) it becomes a task to throw more money into the game just to get money out of it.
Just stick with putting smaller amounts in and enjoy the game, espicially if you get PED back.
