Has this idea ever passed? Its a major enhancement to cool facter like sweet clothes and nice shoes. I would like to be the Phillip-Morris of PE. Like .01 peD a cigarette which last like an hour or so, also when you are smoking you can’t lose your connection. I would be addicted in 5 seconds!

Not a very nice idea for a consumer-friendly company like MA, catering to minors.
BUT personally I’d love it. Said on IRC earlier - I want them to have cigs in game - order a pack of Marlboros and it’ll get delivered to your door, within an hour. Oh please, please. I so want that.

Personaly I dont think something is cool or sexy regardles of being IRL or in PE woulent like to see someone smokeing up jason center bar, dosent help corprate image of MA either dont think its a good idea tbh

Smoking is bad for ur health and MY LAG.. Imagine those people that lag now, all that smoke in the air.. also would ruin calypso’s atmosphere :wise:

Cigs in game is good idea.
Why?
- if you don’t smoke IRL, you can smoke in-game
- cigs make you look cool - and in PE looking is something you’re interested in
- “PE - it’s like a game” - we’re having cigs irl, so why don’t we get them in PE?

People have very unusual values and morals.
It’s okay to shoot, stab, and maim other people and animals, but it’s very wrong to smoke cigarettes.
I think it’s a decent idea. I see no reason not to implement it.

Ok if PE implements such a thing then they might as well implement Emphysema, Lung Cancer, pancreatic cancer just to name a few, then those first aide skills will be properly put to use installing modified traq rings so people can breath. Sorry smoking is a bit of a touchy subject with me I don’t think its too cool. I have had my Grandfather pass away from lung cancer from smoking. My Dad actually quit smoking at age 64 we were so proud of him 1 year later he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer directly related to smoking. Its no way to die seeing someone whither away in constant pain over a years worth of time. Both cancers are horrible ways to die. If you are young seriously think about quitting so your lungs can heal (plus smoking is damn expensive think of all the peds you could have ). My sister quit or she would probably be dead also from lung related problems. Ok I will step off my soap box now good luck

Don’t forget Smell-O-Vision and Puke-O-Vision, after all the places you are in game with others who are smoking, I would stink of smoke and probably want to throw up afterwards.
I can hear the same arguments with what I just mentioned as well. People will say, well, you don’t have to be in here do you.
Catch 22. I can’t go out because people want to smoke where I want to go and I they won’t stop smoking there because they say I should go somewhere else. :rolleyes:

I am sorry. My grandma and grampa smoked all their life, quit, and died promptly. My father, 65, has smoked since he was 12. He told me a few years ago, if he quits, he will die and I believe that. I do not smoke IRL and it is obvious that it kills people, so I am somewhat an intelligent person and have the ability to deduce that smoking is a bad thing for your health.
It is a game, and its definatly an escape from reality. It was just an idea, maybe the “tobacco” is a medicine that enhances your well-being and relaxes muscles. I’m sure there is a politically correct twist MA can zing into it.
lol, great idea, and like in metal gear1 it would stabilise the shot of a snipe bullet, and not gettin all edgy, or the tablets that real snipers use to stop involountary body movement (judders, the shakes)

A non-smoker myself, i wouldn’t oppose the idea. The only thing i dont like about people smoking around me is the smell, which i dont have a problem with in-game. It may cos some lag with the smoke, but, hey, this can add new things to the game. Smokers would have a decreased lung capacity and wouldnt be able to run as far. And as random as your chance of getting an uber-loot, you could get in-game cancer (not only lung cancer, MA can add other non-smoke related cancers), and receive 300 Critical Damage when standing interacting with an auctioneer inside of a smoke filled Mobile Duluxe centre things. BAM! you’re dead! respawning at the nearest Revival Terminal, Faping yourself, equipping another cigarette (or cigar, if you prefer), and asking everyone around you for a light. Good times ahead, people, good times!

I ask myself that question everytime I see a young person smoking. I guess its subconcious, they don’t want to believe, but that is a big reason why people smoke, especially college kids beer+smoking=party!

No offense to anyone… but calling up memories of relatives or friends that have passed away to argue a point about something happening in a virtual world (game) is a bit disturbing to me. I know people that have fallen to cancer too… not to mention knowing someone who fell in the line of duty to a gun. But I certainly don’t use their memories to argue points for a game. Yes, smoking is unhealthy, but so are being shot, stabbed, and bitten by animals.
It’s virtual folks… let’s keep that in mind when we’re discussing these issues.

What the fuck is the point? How would a cigarette benefit me as a hunter? I’d have to stand around and smoke when I could be blasting some trox or some people in pvp. Its like that fucking wrench thing, just stand around with it (but then those used to actually have a purpose)
