Malice had a global today on a Thorio, and kindly let me borrow her looted club to have a play around with. Even if loot tonight was bad I thought, at least I’ll be able to get a few levels in a skill I’m currently newbie rank 1 (ie clubs).
40peds worth of decay later, I’ve gained over 100 Short Blade levels, but clubs was still on lvl 1.
Seems strange - funny looking short blade i think (but what do I know…) :dunce:
A couple of ctd later, I go repair the club and back out to bash some more argos.
Say 30 peds of decay later, this time Shortblades hasn’t moved, and instead I’ve gained 30 levels in Clubs.
So, sorry for the long-winded intro, but I have 2 questions:
1 - Does a battle club give short blades skills?
and if not
2 - Is it common to find yourself gaining skills in the wrong discipline using other weapons? (eg I have never gained handgun skills firing my rifle…). My guess is this is just a bug, but having never used a club, or experienced something like this before, don’t know.
I guess I’m leaving myself open to MA locking my account for exploiting a bug or something, but I couldn’t care less about my SB skill being 250 instead of 150, so I dont really see what “advantage” I have gained.
