When I last played the game there were no limited items (my avatar is OLD) so the concept of non-repairable items hasn’t really occured to me until this last week.
Would you say it’s worthwhile/economical for me as a hunter to learn to craft my own gear (armor plates, amps, guns etc) or am I better off simply buying them?
I haven’t really done any crafting previously though, so I don’t know a lot about it.
I don’t expect to make a profit, but if could get limited gear at roughly ±0 that would be nice.
At which crafting level could I expect to be able to craft, say, an Isis LLC-16?
A dedicated crafter would have all the blueprints, minerals, crafted components ready, all the necessary materials cheaper and in bulks. They will craft in bulk and could give a competitive price. While you would have to gather lots of things that won’t be easy to sell in small batches so preferably you take advantage of other people’s services, at least i n the begining.
If you avatar is pre L items, than it’s really old and you have a lot of catch-up to do so for your own pocket’s sake, start with that first. It’s quite a different game today. Skilling goes fast, DPS is much higher. how much patience you have and how much research you will do will still be the most important aspects and will determine how well you do
Absolutely, I’ve noticed. In a particular skill I was level 13 after “all my time playing” before, and now barely a week later I’m up a few levels already. So skilling does indeed go very fast these days compared to the ancient versions.
With the limited time I have to play, I have no illusions of becoming rich or even break even - I just want to have fun without being stupid with the PED’s I deposit.
