I prefer shrap

Yep, that’s why I have suggested craftable limited buff clothes. I hope they do them sometime

I know DPP is what affects loot comp but how much better does my dpp need to be? Do I need to spend 100k on a justifier?

I was using a DPP 3 weapon, but after switching to a DPP 4 Loot 2.0 weapon in November 2024, my monthly MU profit increased noticeably.

I am currently a Level 95 Animal Looter, with an average monthly TT cycle of around 300k to 500k. My TT recovery rate was 96.2% in 2024, and reached 98.2% in 2025 due to luck from a large HOF. However, even including the 51.6k ped MU, I was still losing about 3k ped.

From January 2026 to the present, my TT recovery is 100.63%, and my MU profit is 14.4k ped (including 1% MU from Shrapnel conversion). There is a limit to the profit you can make from oil types. If Shrapnel appears to offer the highest MU, lower your DPP and hunt small mobs using Overkill. However, if you want to make a profit with MU, you just need to find items that are easy to sell and have high MU.

The oil market is currently in a state of oversupply, and I can’t even remember the last time I put oils on the auction house with no guarantee of when they would sell.

At least in my opinion, the reason for spending a lot of money to raise DPP is not to increase the loot ratio of oils.

I don’t think 3.8 DPP is low either. The important thing is to find and hunt MU.

Nope. You find a mob that seems to have nice average markup. You hunt it for a few hours and determine its loot composition and if it seems close you can see how much more DPP you need.

Basically this is how DPP works (ignoring extreme limits with penalties):

You kill a mob and it costs 1.20 ped. You get 1x multi. Loot consists of 0.20 ped tier components and 1.00 ped shrapnel.

Same scenario but mob costs 1 ped. You get 0.2 ped tier comps but 0.8 ped shrapnel.

If you do instance runs on ARIS and switch between DPPs you will notice a huge difference for same markup. That is probably one of the most notable examples.

DPP makes you loot less shrap, not more materials. The difference in loot composition comes from more loot events for same money.

Funny to see you here, I was actually looking at your profile on EL a few hours ago. Unfortunately I can’t hunt what you’re hunting with my weapon, I’ll go broke in a few hours.

Ah, this is a good test I can try. I never thought to do that.
