After reading soe SGA related threads the last days I don’t really get the SGA part, or other uberitems.
IMO it should be player base related. If player base groves there would drop more items. Just adding a bunch of new regardles of player base size like the SGA is only a inflation for all the other uber items.
If it was player base size related and FPC added another continent, asteroid or other sollution if Calypso population made them to crowded, it would make sence.
And how do you know its not affected by playerbase?

I think if it made sense wed have a whole new crop of ubers stepping up. And a whole new level for the current ubers to fill. But that would also require a big fresh wave of newcomers to balance out the population. When I see several cities filled with orange as I did when I started playing in 2005 after CND was sold then Ill know the opportunity is upon us. Sadly that also requires someone siezing the opportunity to make it so. But it has evolved into the buying in stage and no longer the giveaway to create the ubers the game neeeded to stand on. The foundation was built already and the concrete pourers have left. Now it`s all about laborers left to do the framing and sweeping.

I really don’t understand what you’re saying, but the one point I can make out is wrong..
You say dropping more items without more players causes inflation, in fact its exactly the opposite. It should cause deflation in the price of uber items, something many players that can’t afford the currently absurdly priced uber items have been hoping for for a long time. It also provides a much better (although admittedly still fairly slim) chance of actually looting an uber item. Again, something people have been wanting for a long time.
Inflation, deflation, it’s only the point of view that decides, but you get my point. Value of the items could drop and amount of items/player number will decrease.
When I started to play I thought I had a slim change of getting an OK item, like a full set of Vigi. Now vigi parts is one of the SGA items. Just saying that if the amount of uberstuff was linked to amount active players there shouldn’t be a need for SGA, and you yourself points out that SGA actually lower the value of existing uber items. Good or bad?
Have i missed something? Are regular vigi parts not looted anymore?
I have looted shogun and pixie SGA items but i still loot as many (if not more) regular parts aswell so why would Vigi SGA decrease your chanses of getting a full sett of regular vigi? Or am I wrong here?
