Last night I almost deposited and bought a house.
I think its final selling price was approx 2700.
I went to look at it and it was a 1 roomer/1 hall house on corinth beach.
My logic behind buying it was that if a coat costs 1k then 3k for a house isnt a bad deal. :wise:
However, what put me off was the fact that;
a. It was miles from a TP - I have a tp chip but I assume its better to be located near a “proper” tp.
b. It only had 1 small room.
c. I have no idea what effect apartments will have on the value of a house.
The last part was the reason I didn’t buy, what are other opinions on this? I know MA say appartments wont affect the price of houses but surely it will. Especially considering this was only one room anyway
I think your rite it will have an effect on the house prices how cant it ? but i think that because you dont have to pay rent on them and also the fact that as a percentage of overall homes their will be very few houses that they will stay at a decent vale due to their exculsivty.
only for status atm… no other real use, and like faustian said, a hangar has more functionality and you may get your money back later by flying people to space
Small houses on bad locations will surely drop in price.
The large appartments are probably bigger and cost only 450 ped, and you can’t do alot with a shopkeeper on a bad location either.
Einstein’s point is good. If the location is not good for a shop keeper (or if you aren’t planning on having a shopkeeper) then a house is only for status… but that status could be nice… and Corinth you say?
I believe that in the CL it says something about housing grounds being able to be merged together later.. so I guess that will be the ‘advantage’ of houses. :umn:
Going back to an earlier reply about hanger, they may make you profit but you never see then up for auction and i bet they cost an apsoute fortune includeing a ship

I don’t know about now. I paid 11k for mine with all parts. almost repaired and fueled.

when/where did MA say that apartments won’t affect the value of houses?
that seems to go against the entire philosophy of PE being a real economy. no one can determine what will affect what. it is fluid.
but…i agree with some of the other posts about location & usability. and of course, it depends on what you want to do with it.
i personally have no interest in housing…either owning or renting, but i do think that affordable apartments with a set maximum market value and a low monthly rent are going to hit the small house market like a nuclear bomb.
until rent can be charged on those houses, they would not seem to be a good option.
i’d wait for vu7.2.
but, apartments might suck. who knows? housing prices might sky rocket, because of the locations of the apartments. what if they are all on amethera, for instance?

lol yes… :laugh: Although, wouldn’t be fun trying to get into your apartment building if you’re always at risk of getting pk’d… hopefully MA will have some kind of immunity to that
I do hope that apartments eventually crop up in the major towns… Twins, Ithaca, Hades, etc… and Corinth would be great imo…

don’t get me wrong. amethera could have lots of advantages and could increase the fun level.
but, as a location…it just is not a well traveled land.
