[COLOR=“Purple”]Thanks everyone, it was a nice surprise indeed, and I’ve even had several ask what my mining technique is, so I thought I would just put it right here.
[COLOR=“Purple”]I load myself up with either 80 or 100 probes and bombs each, then I pick a place for the run. If a particular location has been good to me, then I’ll revisit that location multiple times … like the “Purple Patch” (of course), aka Shinook. For about 2 months, there’s no way I could go wrong there. I got over 50 globals and a few hofs, not to mention 4 robot spacecrafts to boot, but no beacons.
[COLOR=“Purple”]I then pick a starting point, and usually run just around the perimeter of a large land mass, unless I know it’s an area where I won’t have too much of a challenge with the mobs. I’m always armored up just in case, because one time I was attacked by a spawning Tsk Watcher, which ended up being a 112 ped global, RIGHT after Atami zoomed by me. :laugh: Not sure if she was my good LUCK charm, but then she properly globaled right after, saying it was her first Tsk, so cool on her … or the 102 ped Corn Stalker harrassing me while I was mining on TI yesterday where I got the uber, so these are definitely bonuses.
[COLOR=“Purple”]Here is the method to my madness … I start running … drop a probe first and keep running. If I find a deposit, then I’ll claim it, and right after claiming it I will drop another probe were I claimed. If I don’t get another deposit, then I start off running again after extracting and drop a bomb. I keep running until the pop-up window either says yay or nay. If it’s nay, I’ll then drop a probe while still running, but only after the window clears because it gives me enough distance in between each drop. The only time I stop running is if I’ve found a deposit.
[COLOR=“Purple”]The one thing that most people question is … why double or even triple bomb … well, because it freakin’ WORKS … the most I’ve had in a row is 7, and with multiple finds like that it’s never the same thing. I remember one night on Skype with Moonie and rwin, and while Moonie’s had experience with me on Skype while mining, rwin is just getting a taste of it. I was in the northern section of Oshiri Hearts doing a mining run, and I just couldn’t lose this night. I was getting hit after hit after hit, and it was this night that I got the 7 hits in a row from the double, triple, whatever drops after extracting a previous find. He could not believe how many consecutive or consistent hits I got. Each time I got a hit I would say … Oh Oh … and he’d go … OMG … it was a fun night for sure, but then rwin is always fun.
[COLOR=“Purple”]Well … that night of mining brought in 966.84 ped in TT value alone. Granted, it’s not an uber run like some of the more skilled miners, but for me with my skill level it was a super run. My mining skills are all over 2k, and some well over 2k, so it serves me well. I am an “au naturale” EU player and have never chipped, because I want to see what I can do with MS9 without the extra boost. I’m not out to be the best or the baddest, but have a crapload of fun while I advance my avatar, and I’m doing just that. :wtg:
[COLOR=“Purple”]Oh, I hit my slow spells like everyone else … and that’s when I change it up and focus more on hunting. Not much of an adrenaline rush while mining, so I have to sneak in a hunt now and then as well … like the Scipulor run with Moonie the other night that brought us 7 globals … with a side of a few Formidon, so that was a nice break.
[COLOR=“Purple”]All in all … I’m more a huntress than a miner, but mining is a close second, and I’m still chasing my brother’s 16,986 tower which happened exactly a year ago, but guess MA doesn’t have that in mind for me yet. :rolleyes: That’s ok, I have patience … and in the meantime, I’m havin’ a lot of fun. :wtg:
