Does anyone know if farming fruit is on MA’s development road map? Given the high prices of food for pets it seems like a logical next step.
Moving us this element of the game from hunter/gathering to agrarian.

could be pretty funny walking around on calypso planting trees and making farms lol
day 1: dig a hole, plant a tree, walk 20 m, dig a hole, plant a tree…
day 8: water tree, walk 20m, water tree… once a week for 2 months
day 60: walk up to tree, gather 200 fruits, walk to next tree, gather 230 fruits
MA would have to add a garden to all house deeds. you could also buy a public park.
:grouphug:
Might be a good move of MA as they dont make music profit of food other than the sweetstuff / refineing costs as fruit is currently free
Eon Sp00n Opheilus discovered fruit worth 56 PED on his tree, and has been recorded in the Hall Of Fame
I think this would seem like a logical step especially if they are going to introduce food for avatars in the future or they can just implant a whole bunch of Mc “D” s in the system or something like that. Probably make more use of the Bars that are located everywhere. Who knows what they have planned but I am surprised they have not implemented a farming system of sorts for fruit and timber etc. I guess that would take a major overhaul of the system plus it would need an addition of a night and day cycle. Good idea though + rep
Yeah i also think its kinda silly that they just appear on the ground and that pieces of wood are found in Mobs intestings…

“This tree didn’t produced any fruit”. And the trees would be infected by that thingie called “balance manager”. :>
Fruit is 0 TT so why would MA care if you tree gave fruit or not
I think a little garden, like in Harvest Moon, would be cool. If MA wanted their share they could have tools like hoe and shovel which decay.

heh? then why argos drop fap-5 at various tt value and not adj fap at same tt value and same rate? is obviously that the drop-rate is influenced by the market value and I can’t but congratulate those intelligent dudes who kept buying fruits at 1-1.5 pec. I can see that fruits would become similar to sweat regarding the market behaviour.
And as an alternative to sweat, milking snablesnots.. for use in me.

what if you milk/squeeze their snables to drain out their acid juice? you could poison players in pvp (mix acid with nutro bars), or simply use it as ammo with your newly crafted squirtgun
maybe even mount a snable on your arms. OH NOOOO!! ITS TEH SNABLEARMGUY! :handjob:
Thats totally weird…
Neverless the tt of fruit is 0 now because it doesnt cost u anything to find it, but if u had to water your trees then the fruit youd get would have a tt price, anyway i doubt youd grow it to sell it to the tt…
That’s what i want for my future in PE. The possibility to have a quiet occupation, buy a few sqare meters of land, and watch your garden grow.
Just wondered what the situation was and if anyone had any hard information.
My personal viewpoint is that it is the missing economic link between hunter/ gatherer (where MA is now) and industrial (where they seem to be taking us). It would be a natural next step - add a bit more complexity and stability (players would have more of a stake in the game).
You could add peasant farmer to your list of skills…MA could rent or sell patches of land to individuals or collectives on which we could grow fruit. Alternatively they could allow existing landowners to rent out land - you could build fences to protect the fruit from mobs etc. using components, build tools with components etc.
Fruit growing coud be quite simple (put in seeds and you get instant fruit) - or complex and need collaborative effort (put in seeds and then water and protect for a 24 hour period then harvest).
I would suggest that (given the slow drop rate) that fruit should continue to be found in the wild for noobs to pick up.
Lot of advantage for MA and landowners and fruit becomes widespread - caus lets face it if fruit continues to drop at the rate it does most of won’t be able to get involved in taming/ riding our pets/ hunting with them or whatever else MA his in mind for the next version of taming!
Thats totally true and MA would be dumb not to think this over
Yes it’s a nice idea. Farming is the thing that could bring even more fun to this game.
lmao sob, i pissed myself laughing for a good 5 mins solid then +rep definitely, imagine armsnables, and after weve drained all the useable resources, we could have snable chops on a campfire whilst we watch out fruits grow ![]()
go on MA do it… doo it
Farms = Brilliant idea.
Should be a small patch of land with a small fertelizing station. And perhaps you could get seeds from the fruits, like 8 seeds from one fruit, and then depending on your farming skills each seed will either grow into a fruit or become a failure/no loot. ![]()
HI,
Farming fruit is a good idea but I think it far more likely that the TT will start selling axes that can be used to cut down the trees that aren’t really there. I remember that the trees used to be real and solid. Why can’t MA make it so that when an animal triggers the “trapped” message the animal backs up and changes direction. Then they could make the trees real again and allow us to become lumberjacks.
Kind of went a little off topic there. A little drunk right now.
