Bit of an odd one, but could we get fuel pumps in Space Stations that sell refined oil at a slight markup (something like 150%) for players who run out of fuel in space and need a small top-up to get back planetside?
Getting stranded is a pretty tedious experience, especially for newer players - having a reliable refuel at every station option would remove an infrequent but genuinely very frustrating pain point.
From MA’s side it’s potentially a small revenue-generating addition, and as a bonus the pumps could be stocked using oil bought from the auction rather than simply generated from nothing, keeping it tied into the player economy.
Given this isn’t a meaningful slice of the game economy by any measure, it should be a net gain overall: QoL improvement for the rescuers and rescuees, light revenue upside, and one less rage quit tier experience removed from game.
This is way better. One fuel pump per station for sale and owners supply their own oil which users can purchase in amounts they set through an interface (so not shopkeeper style)
Clarification: the fuel has to be in the tank, yes (of a second vehicle obviously :p). But you can withdraw that at only the cost of at most 2 pecs (full unit).
However, I can’t imagine there are many who run out of fuel in space, and so a private fueling point would not be worth it unless space becomes much larger and more expensive (and oil is heavy/whatever) fuel-wise I think.
Many stations are not at planets, by the way, so you cannot just tp down if you run out of fuel there…
Auction the space stations, add a shop (owner can sell oil and thrusters there), add repair modules (MS style, so people can skill engineering), add a greenhouse with gardening capability for the owner…
Suddenly, pirating in space becomes more interesting when you know there’s fruits to be looted in those ships ^^
Waste of time… I think there are a lot of other things that should get priority. You can add as much oil as you want in your vehicle. And worst case scenario if you really forget you ask for a warp.. and that’s it.
An easier solution would be to add fuel amount info when you hover your mouse over the quad icon, that way it’s easier to check and remember to fill up. I always make sure I got at least 10 ped of fuel in my quad before taking off, there’s some in the sleip and other vehicles that could be used in case of an emergency.
A good Idea would be to make the low fuel warning appear sooner, like when you have less than 3 ped in the tank.
