Greetings Colonists,

The annual migration has kicked off for the summer, with Eomon and Longtooth sighted in multiple locations near their regular migration route, ready to begin their long and arduous journey across the continent.

The Xenobiological Institute has stated that the herds look healthy and are as vast as ever, making for great opportunities for big game hunters, wildlife researchers, and large Calypso carnivores alike.

In addition to the expected Summer Strongboxes, the Calypso Defense Force suggests there are new weapons to be discovered.

Eomon & Longtooth mission

Head to Minopolis and speak to the Unnamed RDI Xenobiologist. There, you will be offered two different mission structures: Eomon missions and Longtooth missions. Meeting the contribution goals of the missions will give you the following rewards:

• Eomon “Guts and Glory” Daily mission - 2 Daily Tokens and 400 Blazar Fragments

• Eomon “Circuit Taker” mission - A choice of one E.L.M Edition weapon and 23,000 Blazar Fragments

• Longtooth “Touch a Nerve” Daily mission - 1 Daily Token and 200 Blazar Fragments

• Longtooth “Take a Breather” mission - A choice of one E.L.M Edition weapon and 12,000 Blazar Fragments

The Eomon and Longtooth missions reset annually, granting you the opportunity to participate year after year.

Migration Paths

Based on data collected by RDI Xenobiologists, here are the estimated migration paths for the Eomon and Longtooth:

To find the Longtooth migration path, follow the red path. This route starts east of Cape Corinth, moves south of Livas Outpost, and ends near Fort Ithaca.

To locate the Eomon migration path, follow the green paths. This route begins in the eastern parts of Eudoria in the Minopolis Desert region, passes near Ashi, and ends in the south near Camp Carter.

Eomon deviating from their paths

Since last year, RDI has discovered numerous Eomon deviating from the regular migration path and congregating at different locations. This is a new trend, and there is a possibility that more spots on Calypso might see Eomon for the first time this year. Look below to find the so far known locations of the maturities you’re hunting for:

• OLA#58 - Eomon Prowler & Stalker

• OLA#63 - Eomon Alpha, Old Alpha, Prowler & Stalker

• OLA#66 - Eomon Young to Stalker

• OLA#38 - Longtooth Young to Stalker & Eomon Young to Stalker

• South East of Fort Pandora - Longtooth Young & Longtooth Stalker

Longtooths

Outside of the main migration path, wild herds of Longtooth are also wandering around in the following locations:

• West of Fort Argus – Longtooth Dominant, Alpha & Old Alpha

• North of Livas Heights – Longtooth Guardian, Dominant & Alpha

• North of Atlas Haven – Longtooth Provider, Guardian & Dominant

• South of Limnadian District – Longtooth Old, Provider & Guardian

this was my 6th and very last migration I did participate in. I run into worst idea ( how it turns out), since I play. Long story short- my last log in was at march, I went bankrupt again (total item value 120 ped)- because they changed mining returns- i don’t use amp, so i was practically end to me.
I returned on 15-07 I asked y friend to borrow me his items, so i can run into migration and try to loot again my dream weapon- unlimited one- this was my goal since forever.

But then i went to armatrix amp give me effy- 83,7- I’m today 78 looter- then it was 77. Of course I did make depsoit- i need an ammo- deal was to have it for a week- 7 days.

I took all misions and went to hunt, and they this hit me- I had on loghtooth 2-4 ped each, globals like 50-58, overall return was below 80%, two day was 64-73%- i double check it. I reported it to support- how can i have so low return despite my equipment and skills? they didn’t copy paste me, but answer like normal person, which was very awesome- they did change their response.

First time I could hunt for eomons (surreal awesome armor and plates), but this was pure lottery from 4-6 ped to 120-500 ped global. On them return was bit better.

I fu-ked up surreal this time, because I chase again for my dream gear, so I could keep it and just play. This is event you need to be lucky- this i know for sure, but i had no return of repairing my items- this hit me too hard, maybe i hunt too little or too much- i don’t know.

My conclusion- using surreal good items won’t magically change your loot, you CAN NOT buy yourself any good loot either, if your goal was like mine, stop. I won’t put m,y avatar into liquidation state like before- no point, just eventually won’t press play. I run on migration from full equipment with l on it to full unlimited. at some point your skills, items or deposit you did don’t make any any different. Keep that in mind when you want to participate in any event.

It is all my fault, from idea to conclusions. but I really though MA can do better spawn not inside the tree. That is it from me. Take care.

Shame it did go bad for you, but I am gonna use your migration experience to illustrate something.

7k ped is not much bankroll. That supports something like a 230k cycle assuming everything falls perfectly in place. I don’t know what your in game name is so I can’t check your tracker but even with the efficiency of the imk2 doing anything above young longtooth with that bankroll would pretty much be gambling. If you did eomon young for instance that cycle would let you kill around 15,000 of them. I have personally recorded outcomes +/- 8% from expected in such samples.

It sucks balls, I know, I went all in for legends and starter hunting bigger stuff and lost well over 30,000 ped during July.

It is so, so, so important to be prepared for losses if we want to shoot big things with a limited bankroll. This is bound to happen to everyone hunting anything rather large with time, except a select few that get lucky. The only way to lower the variance would be lowering the high multipliers but that would mean less swirls and no chance to hit big. With time people would adapt and move up and we would end up at the same place we are now.

While i do agree with you @WhiningSkeptic this is a big issue for the game and it’s future. Not everyone has the time and bankroll to do massive cycles. And they can move to lower hp mobs, but get bored out and/or nothing to get there.

This is gonna be an issue with new players who are used to power leveling in a night and then killing the biggest bosses.

Solutions to lowering the variance will eliminate some multis and make others more rare, but as long as we want to be able to hit even 100x our input we will more often than not be below our expected target.

Progression in EU is very different from other games. For a while in order to not have to think too much I put a lower target (90%) since it requires much less kills to be certain to achieve and then just cycled what deposits could cover until like normal got drunk and went and did some stupid shit.

thank you guys for replay, but i was aware of it- this is not my first migration as i said, but this was- having so surreal in my opinion items didn’t make any any difference and the hitting rock was- no return for repair. Like i never hunt them. I assume timing when i back was bad, but damm, that was beyond bad. In my opinion deposit don’t make any difference, like they don’t matter at all- really you can not have because of them any good loot. I felt like i was simply excluded from game in every part of it. No matter what I did and when, and with what items it was pure downfall. If I ever see post about effy and looter skills i will simply cry.
Yes, i get attached to this game and people and wanted so bad have this awesome achievement which is looting ul weapon, but i fu-d it, so learn from my mistakes. Events are for few.

The only reasonable way to play the lottery for UL items today would be the first three Aris instances which should long term go great for you with the imk2 as well as perhaps participating when Socrates puts up dev spawns. They can get expensive so easy on the enhancers but event loot like mod neuros and other “special loot” makes it long term positive and we usually see some UL drop.

It is hard to step down levels because it gets boring as all hell. Playing in a sufficient manner is tedious but playing in an exciting way gets expensive.

They aren’t gone yet. Wish you hit the UL if you decide to shoot more.

No idea what kind of answer you were expecting from support, gear is just there to keep you alive, it won’t give you better loot because of the decay. I got hofs hunting naked so f… that s… ppl say you need decay to get loot.

This is a casino and you are taking a gamble, keep that in mind.
