This is a client fix only, please restart and update your game.
Inventory and items
Inventory, storage and container windows now update immediately when you loot, trade, recycle or restack items.
Dropping an item onto an occupied slot places it in the nearest free slot instead of refusing the move.
Right-click menu actions in container and shopkeeper windows work again, and the menus are no longer cut off by the window edge.
Item slots show the padlock, the (L) and other flag letters, the condition bar and the TT value again in inventory, storage, containers, strongboxes, loot and shopkeeper windows.
Ctrl-click and Shift-click multi-select work again in the inventory, container and shopkeeper windows.
Rubber-band selection now scrolls the item grid when you hold the selection at the top or bottom edge.
Item tooltips appear faster and no longer disappear when the mouse moves slightly.
Item icons no longer show the wrong picture until restart after changing graphics quality or anti-aliasing settings.
Unequipping or swapping the Umbranite Bladeweaver Armor Set (L) now removes its melee reload buff.
The Preserved Tuna Rock Filet recipes now show their correct names.
Auction
The row-size slider now also scales listing text and icons.
Escape closes the open listing details before closing the auction window.
Map and travel
Warping to an arbitrary map coordinate works again.
The warp picker shows waypoint and quest markers.
Land-area, city and area-of-interest borders on the map and radar are easier to read.
Chat
Chat windows can be moved by dragging the empty part of the tab strip, the top area of the chat or a locked tab such as System or Main. The small grip handle has been removed. Other tabs still drag to reorder, attach to another window or detach.
HUD and interface
The command-bar health figure now shows hit points by default, with a Health: HP / % option in edit mode.
Buff timers on nameplates and status bars now show whole units, such as 30m or 2h, instead of raw seconds.
The fishing bobber marker no longer shows an empty progress bar.
Tooltips in dialogs no longer appear behind the dialog they belong to.
Options now has a separate Reset Layout, which only moves windows back to their default positions. Reset UI still restores all interface settings and now says clearly that chat tabs, channels and colours will be lost.
Team names are capped at 32 characters when creating a team
Shop ads
Ad screens on shops render at their previous resolution again instead of blurry.
Each text block in an ad can hold up to 2048 characters, up from 512.
The ad editor now explains that global ads use the shared background set, not your own uploads.
Avatar
Fixed texture and calf issues on the female Nurse dress and boots.
Stability and performance
Restored the previous texture and model cache behaviour, reducing teleport stutter and extra loading introduced in 19.10.1.
Fixed a crash when a waypoint tracker points to a planet you are not connected to.
Fixed a crash in HUD tracking when a tracked object could not be read.
Fixed a crash caused by an oversized asset.
Fixed a start-up crash caused by a corrupt shader cache entry.
Fixed a crash when a content download could not be written to disk.
Fixed a crash caused by an unbound interface setting.
Known Issues
Bid Markup sorting on the auction does not always sort correctly for ascending and descending orders
The new Map has some minor performance issues when panning and zooming
The new Map still shares behaviour with the minimap inside the radar
Teleporting on top of a land area may still cause issues when selecting
Some mission trackers progress-bars are not displaying correctly
Suggestion: an ongoing MA thread suggesting more than resetting the UI, but stuff we may not have noticed, such as the crafting full screen can actually be moved off-screen, even though not changed in size. That sort of thing is what many will not realise for ages if not notified.
Also, maybe highlight the more important fixes, as some are more relevant to most players than others.
Can we get how many units of an item that was sold noted in the message center titles please. I don’t want to spend 3x longer trying to figure out which of my markets sold so I can repost if needed and losing hunting time.
Next patch is currently planned for Tuesday and will include performance improvements for both low and high end systems, significant further bug fixes (for most reported bugs still remaining, I’m told), and implement various quality of life suggestions we have received through the forum, Discord, support cases, etc.
This includes for example full UI scaling and scaling of individual UI elements, and reverting mouse inputs when alt-tabbing to how it worked before.
I just want to give a big thanks to you and your team for all what you are doing! Yes, there were quite some changes in the past couple of weeks, and a lot to take in for the player, including me with some ranting in front of my computer. But seeing that you guys take the comments, suggestions and bug-reports very serious, is truly nice and calming, and makes me optimistic for the future (change to UE5 and such).
I’d have a few suggestions myself, apart from what you were hinting at, but nothing which wasn’t already mentioned in the two relevant threads here in the forum. The most important QoL change for me would be to bring back the “k” and “M” numbering on stackables, perhaps with the original font, size and colour, and without the black border (not sure how this is called, it’s like a glow behind the letters/numbers) around the numbers. As EU revolves around selling and trading of your loot, an easy reading of your inventory is very important
Apart from that, significant UI changes do cause problems, always, and it is sometimes hard to acknowledge that if you are on the user side of things! The most important is that you guys are on it. So, thanks again for all the hard work you do. It certainly is a wild ride, but that’s why I, and certainly many others, like EU. Was it not John Lennon who said that “life happens if you make new plans”? In this sense, Entropia is very much alive
It’s a bit like pouring concrete, this vu and patch stuff. It seems there’s only a certain time frame in which you can mould things before they become set for months or years.
I very much hope next Tuesday sets hard in a way where we have options, whether it be icon size, font sizes, window positions, sizes and movement off-screen, radar mob dot sizes even, through to colour palettes possibly. One size certainly does NOT fit all our preferences on anything I guess, due to very different monitor strengths.
On the content side (as opposed to optics and function controls), please switch on NI’s switched off NPC and I may even unlock complimentonics, which has remained unlockable for me for months now. A fix of the shop search function to include the names of everything, instead of obscure numbers that only some people will have discovered… would be nice too. (to see what I mean about shop search, search individual shops’ full lists for items that only appear as numbers.)
Sounds good, and the abiblity to scale in the UI is essential especially on systems that run 1080p or less. I haven’t had the opportunity to play on my main system yet, that I usually run in 1440p or 4k so no idea how it looks there.
However - if you could look into the possibility to change colors on item counts etc along with a slider to decrease the vividness of colours in UI it would make a world of difference since the current state just is way to vivid. I would actually prefer to run in black n’ white compared to todays new look, but I do not want to run everything on my systems with that setting. So, please try to find a solution.
The look atm it’s like some of these open world, kill’em all, last man standing games that currently roams the gaming realm of man. It may suit new players, but for me, and I guess a whole lot of others, it doesn’t feel like EU, and definitely not “home”.
