How do you get accurate results? (Without repairing full, and then counting the shots to make it 10% again
)
If youâre not willing to go out on a hunt with the weapon, you could always just shoot 10 shots in the air and check the total decay, then divide it by 10. This wonât give you the most accurate result though. But if thatâs youâre only option, itâs better than nothing.
Otherwise it would be great if you could go out on a hunt with the weapon, and shoot exactly 100 shoots, then divide the total decay with 100. Either 100 or 1000 shots will be OK.
You donât have to repair the weapon up to 100%, this will however give you a more accurate test⊠But if youâre able to repair the weapon to 100%, you can always use Sarahâs method:
Because the info is coming from the ones that actually own the item and want to make them seem better than they are?
And by the way, all this talk about 1000 clicks to make an accurate decay evaluation⊠Wrong. Low-decay-item decay is best determined with one (1) click.
How to do it:
-Repair the item full.
-Click/shoot/smash one (1) time.
-Put in repair terminal.
-Slide the repair slider to see the repair cost change.
-Move slider to the exact percent where the cost changes from 1 pec below max repair and max repair. (Ex: If max repair seems to be 3 pec, then find the repair percentage where exactly the cost changes from 2 to 3 pec).
-Use basic math to calculate total decay very accurately. (Say the repair % was 93% where cost changed from 2-3 pec. Then 2.5 pec (!!) is 93% of the total decay. 2.5/0.93=2.688 pec. Being 100% certain its between 2.5/0.94=2.660 and 2.5/0.92=2.717 pec. An error margin of about ±0.029 pec, ~1%)
The lower decay of the item, the more accurate this method is.
Example:
Say hypothetically that an imp fap is fully repaired and used once. In repair terminal the full repair tells us 2 pec, changing from 1-2 pec at 79%. This means the decay is 1.5/0.79=1.899 pec. Being 100% certain its between 1.875 and 1.923 pec, which I personally think is an accurate enough astimation of 1.9 pec. (This is just an example and NOT the real decay of imp fap)
